Don't sweat the small stuff...it's all small stuff

This guy landed on top of a tree in our back yard this morning and was kind enough to stay long enough for me to get a few pictures of him.  I wasn't able to get pictures of the two ravens and the three seagulls harassing him, though.  Hot the unusual flat shaped head.  Normally an eagle's head is more rounded.  Sort of appropriate for celebrating Independence Day, eh? (the "eh" was for Mike in Nova Scotia 😁). Note all the flies/mosquitoes flying around the eagle's head in the last shot.

Wow Greg .... some cool ,,, eh ? !!  LOL

Today we have received some of the heat you have experienced.  Some is the key word.  Right now it is 28.9 at our front door..... and no rain !!!

Maybe some have seen this camera set up by the NS Web Cam system.  Same as last year.  The 2 eggs hatched and the birds have grown very quickly.  Some one claims to have seen an eagle swoop by the nest at some point.

Happy July 4th to all the US friends of Maxi Scoots.

Great photos, Greg. Saw an eagle up close in the wild for the 1st time in Michigan's upper peninsula in April. Wish I had my camera ready for some superb photos like yours.

That was quite a treat to see that.  Kind of appropriate for the 4th of July.
I was using my Nikon P900 with a zoom range of 24-2000mm.  Using the digital zoom results in a little bit of
digital noise, or graininess, but overall, it did a good job, especially since it has a small sensor.  We put Fletcher, our little boston terrier in the house, as eagles have been known to swoop down and carry off small dogs and the occasional unlucky cat.

That looks like he is perched on the beginnings of a nest. Very nice.

No nest.  He was just passing through, and took a rest stop, I guess.  It was a treat.

It was up over 100°F (43°C) here yesterday - with A/C & Medeterranian breezes (occasionally) It's supposed to start cooling down today. The fanciest birds we get over here are the occasional parrot, magpies, and an Asian J passing through.

Not as hot here today.  Only supposed to get up to 86.  That's still hot.
