The grass clippings often have other things mixed in, gravel, sand, broken glass and any number of other things found on roadsides. The clippings can also hide road problems like potholes and subsidence. While it did not directly cause that crash it was a contributing factor.
In Kentucky many times the grass clippings are 6 inches or deeper since many roadsides are not frequently cut, ran into this Wednesday going to Shelbyville. The entire road was covered ditch to ditch with grass from 3 to 6 inches deep. This was for 100 yards or more with curves. Be careful!
