Looking out my window, at all of the ice and snow, it's hard to believe that it will be spring in only 14 days. Setting the clocks ahead this weekend is sort of like the Two Minute Warning in sports. I hope Mother Nature got the memo, because I've been freezing my butt off for the last three months.

I think when this last cold snap fades we'll start transitioning into spring. (I hope)

There is a contest on local television here now, Don, with the prize being a trip to the Greek islands.  So, sure it is warm when I win that trip !!  LOL

Nice day here after a wretched ice, and ice pellet storm Monday,  and people are asking be if I have my bike out yet.  Not yet ...  but sooner that most might expect.

Let me know when you win and what your itinerary is and I'll see if I can't augment it with some ideas. Or, get your passport in order, jump on Air Canada Rouge premium economy and come on over.

Thanks Don.  Passport is in order.  Would have to be  an AC Rouge flight arrangement .... or  I'll have to  enter the contest and be lucky.  Won't be in early October, however ... I'm working on a fun project for that time of year here.  But on the topic "Spring?"  ... looks like Monday will be spring in NS at 8°C.  Right now it is winter at -13°C as another day begins.

We've had below 0 temps every morning this week. Its suppose to warm up a bit. Not like it should. Record snow banks here. Can't even get to the shed where the bikes are.

Same here just waiting for the rain to get here.  We are having Bob’s Mom’s Celebration of Life Luncheon this afternoon.  Hope all the rain doesn’t keep our guests from driving in.  Like you said Maggie always something.

Thanks Maggie.  All went well we had about 65 friends and family.  It was a very nice celebration.  Bob’s Mom would of been proud. Started raining pretty hard at times.

We brought Bob’s Dad home and on the way back from his house we came across a little dog in the middle of the street at an intersection.  We pulled over and our daughter got out of the car to see if she could help the dog.   He was all wet and a bit skiddish.  With the help of a few other people we were able to pick him up.  No collar or tags.  We brought him home bathed him and cut his matted hair.  Gave home some food and water.  He is a very chill dog.  Tomorrow or Monday we will take him to a vet and see if he has been chipped.
He looks as though he has been a stray for quite sometime.  Here are a few pictures of when we found him and after we bathed and cut his hair.

P.S. WE will not be opening a grooming business anytime soon.  Lol

When I lived in Syracuse we would have snow until April. Spring was just a fancy word you say on a calendar. Living a bit further south it may reach 60º F tomorrow so I may get a chance to wash my bike, and fix up a few things.

Crossing my fingers,

I'm close to Syracuse, and we have a lot of snow still. BUT, the roads are dry, the salt has been washed off, and I got in only my third ride since the beginning of February(and first of March). It sure felt good though!

We've gone from severe winter storm warnings last week to forecast temps in the mid-50s by Tuesday.  Because the snow didn't melt back between storms as is typical we now have flooding forecast.

Cleaned up nicely.  Cute dog.  If he's not chipped and no one to claim him, you just might have inherited an eternally grateful pet.  Good for you guys.

Got up this AM about 0630. The weeds and cement were bone dry despite the heavy overcast.

A little before 10 o'clock I dawned boots, coat & gloves, grabbed the shopping list, wallet & helmet and headed for the door.

Two steps around the back of the house and onto the driveway and I'm hit with big fat drops of rain.

Seriously, we've already broken a 60 year record ain't it enough???

The weather here is crazy too.  Last Sunday was to be the day I put the battery back in the Silverwing and checked the tires ... then a short ride.  This was the plan.  HA !  Then my fire wood for next winter arrived and blocked the shed, and any hopes of a ride went up in smoke.  On Monday we had 6 inches of snow ... Which is now gone.  Having moved some of the 3 cords to clear an exit path for the bike last Sunday; today was my first ride of 2019, as short as it was at only 30 kms.  Spring here today for sure.  Bluebird skies and 18°C.  Might have to go back for another ride to be sure I wasn't just dreaming. The rest of the week calls for rain.  Yup - spring in Nova Scotia!

10 inches of snow last Thursday put a hold on spring here. Kept me from going to my happy place for the weekend. Then it got cold. Finally starting to melt today. Should be gone by the ens of the week as 50 degree temps & rain are predicted for this week.
