Let's Ride!!!!!!

« on: March 04, 2019, 06:29:51 PM »

Cliff this tracks at just under 500 miles at 477 miles.   It’s for sure one of those epic leave at sunrise and get home before dusk rides.  Perfect for a summer ride.

The road(s) across the bottom of MO 142/160 are SUPER awesome.  Then 125 down to the ferry is fantastic.  Once in Arkansas Hwy 7 is fun.  You have negotiate through the “big” city of Harrison but before and after super!

Two choices for lunch.  First in Jasper is the Ozark Cafe, their burgers are fantastic.  For scenery and another good burger, there is the Cliff House Inn just south of Jasper on Hwy 7.  The restaurant sits on the rim of the Arkansas Grand Canyon.  Even if you don’t eat here there is a pull out to stop and see this beautiful vista.

Any sane person would turn and head back north now….  But we are riders.  What do riders do?? RIDE!!  Head south on 7 turn east and come back north on Hwy 123.  This is the Arkansas Dragon.  Starts out like the Cherohala Skyway and turns wicked crazy twisty at the end.

You will work your way to 412 which is 4 lanes divided in spots but this allows you to make up some time to get back.  412 takes you to 9 which dead ends at Mammoth Spring, a nice stop on a hot day.
