I took this when Kelly (Akforza) and I rode over the Denali Hwy.  I thought this shot of the bikes stopped before riding over the wooden bridge over the Susitna River was kinda cool.  You probably won't find this anywhere in the "lower 48."

Just don't try that road on a scooter.  It won't be a lot of fun.  You'll need a dual sport or adv. tourer, like a Vstrom or a Triumph like Kelly's, or a BMW GS.  We were lucky because that road couldn't have been in better shape.  I've been over it when it was a lot of work and a rough ride.

Very cool!!

Pete and I ran across this bridge about 7 years ago on our way to Lake of the Ozarks.  A wood swinging bride.   Was a fun experience.

I'm gonna leave "wood swinging bride" alone, though the notion of "wood swinging groom" seems plausible.  :D

I've been on large, loose rock where it felt like the bike was moving left & right.  With the entire surface moving left & right, I believe I'd be walking the bike.

Nice pics Greg and Maggie got me thinking of the Capilano Bridge in Vancouver, Canada we visited in 2005.  I have pictures on my old home computer. I am at my in-laws but here is a pic I got off the web.  My Mom who was 86 at the time walked across that bridge with us.  When we got to the other side she said OK Iím done you can bring the car now.  We had to tell her there was no car to bring that she had to go back across.  The look on her face was priceless.  The bridge led to a park that we toured on foot. (With benches to rest).  We were not that cruel.  Mom was a trooper she passed at 93.  She would of been a 100 on the 19th of this month.  My brothers and there families and mine are celebrating her life with a party next Saturday.

Hereís  the pic off the web.  It was a real cool but scary bridge.

It was a great road. Thank’s to Eric’s suggestion.  I was just watching an episode of Homeland last night when they referred to Philippe as being the place of the First land battle of the Civil War.  We just got there in time before it got to dark. Wish we could of gotten a picture of his riding across it.  Not enough time.

I've never seen a covered bridge in person, but it's something I always wanted to do.  Oregon has a couple covered bridges, but somehow, in 10 years, we never got there.  Considering how much time we spent riding in Oregon, it's a shame we didn't.  So I appreciate the covered bridge pic, Cathy.
