We paid a visit to the local Kawasaki/Yamaha dealership around noon today, just bumming around, not consciously looking for anything.

We left with a 2019 Kawasaki Z650.

Teresa sat on it and immediately liked it, lightness, seating position, and of course, the glossy 'powder blue'(?) paint color. The offered her what she paid for the 300 Ninja she bought from them only about three months ago.

The 650 doesn't weigh significantly more than the 300 Ninja, but almost doubles the power, so it should be a fun bike well beyond it's intended commuter duties next year.

The best part is that I will be able to ride the snot out of it when she's not using it.

Congrats on the new bike.  Basically the same motor as my Versys.  Should be a blast to ride.

Nice. Now to wait for the snow to disappear and break it in!

Congrats!
I liked my Kawasaki. Smooth, trouble free, and after 19 years it's still gettin' down the road.

When I sold my Ninja 650 this Fall I was reminded how absolutely fun that bike is to ride. I had forgotten a bit as it was sitting in my garage mostly while I was out on the Interceptor and Versys but had a nice refresher on my way to make delivery of the bike.

The great thing about the Ninja over the Versys is how much lighter, quicker and flickable it is. The Versys is much better going through a corner but the side to side transition of the Ninja was such a joy on a tight roads. The Ninja and Z are mostly similar save for a few plastic bits.

Hope the both of you enjoy. That blue is nice.
