Hi gang,

I've just returned here after not visiting for about five years. I initially joined this forum in 2011, and was on the old forum before that. Then I drifted away, and apparently my account got inactivated. Maggie set me up again with my old user name, but my history and previous posts can't be reconnected. So if you see old posts by "smorris" with a status of "guest", that was me. Looking through the old introduction threads, it looks like a lot of my old chums are also inactive accounts.

I hung out here, ModernVespa, urrbanscootin, BurgmanUSA, and allsuperscooters (which is apparently gone.) It seems all have taken a hit in participation since I was active.

I have a 2007 Suzuki Burgman 400, and I'll post the modifications/farkles below. I also have a couple other scoots as seen in my sig.

Here was my original introduction post. Hey @Maggie, take a peek. It looks like you had to do this same thing almost eight years ago. ;)

Thanks for letting me back in,
Steve

Scooters are the cats PJ's.
Lookin' like you be ready for some real ridin'.

Don't those driving lights take a beating down there?

Welcome back. Hang onto those MCL brake covers, they're getting very hard to find since MCL went out of business after Larrys death.

Thanks all! Perfect time to join back up, as today we had our first snow that's stuck to the road and grass. No riding for me once they drown the roads in salt until a good heavy rain washes them clean. When I was still working, I'd ride until mid to late December before salt got laid down.

Oddly, once I retired in 2010, I didn't ride as much as I was before. We travelled more, and I'm really good at putting things off until later, so I didn't ride every day. Late this year I started back up in earnest, so snow I'm sad to have the season coming to an end.

Yep, we are still over here *not* in the snow belt. I want to move to Wyoming, but we just had our first grandkid, and our daughter is in Medina, so I'll probably be here till I croak.

Welcome back. Hang onto those MCL brake covers, they're getting very hard to find since MCL went out of business after Larrys death.
No plans to change, but I didn't know that Larry was gone. Sorry to hear. They sure were a handy, simple upgrade!

Welcome back!

Tough question as I made all the changes almost a dozen years ago. Mechanically, the clutch made a huge difference, as the 2007s had the slippy, squeaky clutch. The windscreen and Alaska Leather butt pad made the biggest comfort difference. And the Stebel horn and Moto Lites (along with the 2008 headlight swap) gave the biggest safety impact. Four forward-facing lights vs. one made a noticeable difference in how many people pulled out in front of me.

Don't those driving lights take a beating down there?

Not so far in about 6000 miles. Not a nick or chip in them.

What side of Cleveland are you on? I was born in Lakewood and lived in Avon Lake as a kid, before we got our visas  and moved to California...

Welcome from Alabama.  I grew up in Cleveland and my parents still live in the eastern suburbs.  I expect to be up that way at least a couple of times this year.

Goll durn amighty, have that many years gone by! Not many still around can recollect the A.S.S. splinter. I still remember them scoots of yours and we just might be the only two with the same scoot as back in the day.
Welcome home again, enjoy!
