Rollin', Rollin', Rollin'

« on: October 15, 2018, 08:24:25 PM »

Some may know that I sold the Ninja last week, I did get a chance to commemorate the fleet in a few quick photos.

I sold the Ninja while Serena was away on a business trip and am curious how long it will take her to notice that the bike is gone.  She has three clues.

1.  Our credit card was reimbursed for the balance of the insurance payment.

2.  Our joint savings account had an inexplicable large deposit.

3.  And really the most obvious, the bike isn't there anymore.

It's been two days and no mention.

The fleet picture are awesome. Can't help thinking you'll soon be facing a "When were you going to tell me?" moment.

Perhaps she thinks if she says nothing it'll happen again

It took mine almost a week to notice when I shaved off my beard!

Day 3, no mention.  Serena has lots of gifts and talents but being aware of her surroundings isn't her strong suit.  While she was away our neighbor cut down five or six very tall trees from his wooded yard, she did not notice.

Maybe you had better buy it back before she notices that it is missing.  Can't have too many bikes!

I could probably buy it back for cheap, the poor young lady who purchased it dropped it right in my driveway when she first tried to take off.  Broke off the side view mirror, bent the shifter and majorly scratched up the fairing and engine case.  She was a bit too short and not used to the power coming from a Ninja 250.

For myself, I would want something very different.  Maybe a Moto-Guzzi or believe or not a Harley Sportster Roadster... possibly a Thruxton or maybe a small scooter.

Sounds like a friend of mine who bought a Harley Sportster 883 as her first bike. Never ridden before, she got on it and fell 7 times in the parking lot. Didnt ask for help.... Did it on her own . I guess she figured, ive ridden on the back many times, how hard could it be.
She never rode it again. Tried to explain to her, try a smaller bike first. You're too skinny and can't even hold a thing up. I think she paid $9,000 for it and sold it for $4000 few months later.

Perfect example of why "test rides" are not a good idea for private sellers.

Cat's out of the bag, so to speak.  On Friday Serena finally realized something was wrong or different.  We got in the car that is parked behind the bikes to go out for dinner and drinks.  Did not notice at that time but upon our return later she said, "Hi two bikes" and then there was a pause and then the lightbulb goes on.  She asked me when and if I sold the Ninja.  I told her it was last week when she was traveling and that it's been missing from the garage for five days since her return.
