Since I was by myself I could stop and take pics whenever I wanted.

I rode into the booming metropolis of Cornersville, TN.



Lots of cool old buildings but this one caught my eye.

One nice thing about Alabama is that we have year round riding and winter is pretty short compared to the northern states.

I got out yesterday and took some pics.



It had been rainy and gloomy most of the day but cleared up in time for a ride.  The roads were still wet.

One of the great things about living in Alabama is that it's not hard to ride year round.  Sure it gets cold in the winter and occasionally even snows.  It's not as warm here as Florida but we have much better roads.

Yesterday there was a dual sport ride posted on other forums.  With a forecasted high of 50 degrees I wanted more wind protection than that offered by my KLX250 so I rode my Majesty.

At the meeting spot:



One guy nearly dropped his bike before the ride started.

Mostly road paved back roads.

Many of these roads were pretty rough.



They were scenic.

We rode a few roads that weren't paved.



The Majesty handled them just fine.  The dirt roads were smoother than some of the paved roads.

As I was heading home after the group ride the sun was setting and the clouds looked interesting.....

So I headed for the Tennessee river for some sunset pics.

By the time I got home I had ridden nearly 150 miles.  Not a real long ride but for the middle of the winter I'll take it.

I've been getting out and riding quite a bit.  This January may end up being the most miles I have ridden in January since I lived in Southern California in the 80s.

We had some real warm weather during the week with a High of 71 one day.  Of course I got out and rode.

Nice pics Winn.  I sat on a Goldwing at my Honda dealer today to see how my new knee felt getting on it.  It felt good.  I also sat on this 2004 Helix Trike.  That felt good too.

Every time I read about someone riding right now and look at their pics, my eyes drift outside and I find myself slowly shaking my head from side to side as my chin drifts downward until it comes to rest on my chest.  If only I'm thinking ...

Thanks for sharing and for keeping the flame alive for the rest of us that are still snow and winter bound.  Our nights are around 0*F right now (colder temps yet to come) but we warm up to balmy teens during the day.

I had some shopping to do yesterday and when that was done I wasn't too far from the ADV Alabama Tag so I went and grabbed it.



There was a place nearby that I thought would make an interesting new tag so I headed there.



It was around 3.5 miles of dirt road. It was mostly nice and smooth although I did dodge some potholes.

I knew there was one section that might be a bit tricky on a big scooter with street tires.

I made it through without dropping the scooter or even sliding any but I did get it a bit dirty.

Color me green!
We've had the weather but we've also had the boot heel.

I set up a ride for Yesterday, just a short ride with lunch in the middle because it was going to be a bit cold.  The ride almost got derailed when one of the riders posted it was sleeting at his house.  Luckily it didn't last.  It was dry and a balmy 42 degrees at my house.  We ended up with four riders.



Then it was about an hour ride on Back roads in Tennessee.

The group ride ended up being 96 miles.  Add in my commute to and from the starting point and I ride a total of 162.  That's not a real long ride but plenty considering the weather.  It was good to get out with some friends!

We had a little heat in Alabama today with a high of 75 degrees.  It will be a while before we see that again so I got out and took advantage of it.
