I'll be there, arriving Tuesday around dinner time. Staying at the Red Roof Inn.

Just going to dump my bags in my room then head down to the Docks, Seafood and Steakhouse on the Waterfront at Goose Pond

Tuesday Night's Special is......
All-you-can-eat Southern Fried Catfish
lightly battered and served with fries and hush puppies Ė 13.99

And if you don't fancy catfish..... here's their full menu.
http://goosepond.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/docks-menu.pdf

Checking in Tuesday evening and leaving Monday morning. Sunday is a R&R day at the pool or just chillaxin before the long ride home.

Couple of folks new to the group coming this year:  JD (me) from northern Kentucky and my buddy, David, from Dayton, Ohio.  Our wives are letting us out of our respective cages to ride our Burgmans to Scottsboro, and we'll be staying at the Red Roof as well.  I've been meaning to meet up with you folks for several years, and it looks like 2018 will be the one.

We'll be arriving on Tuesday and plan on staying through Sunday unless y'all have chased us away by then!

Really looking forward to it!

I live in Huntsville so I will ride over.

Plan to be on the Wednesday Lynchburg ride and the Thursday Rock City & LRC ride.

I will meet folks who come to the Space and Rocket Center. Hopefully can share some of my knowledge of NASA stuff.

Update: Saturday plan to be at breakfast and the Hometown Ride.

I would like to attend but I don't think Mindi will be ready for that long of a ride yet. We are considering the Scooting the Ozarks which is also in September but only a couple of hours away. She got her scooter late in June and has been doing pretty good but still says she doesn't feel comfortable or confident enough to go on a longer ride or mix with traffic.

We've held off making this decision as long as we could. We will not be able to make this year's rally.  Vicki's mom took a tumble in mid-July which resulted in a head injury.  While she is physically ok, we're still working on her mental recovery and don't feel we should leave her, even though she's in a skilled nursing facility.

Vicki and I are bummed we won't see old friends and meet new ones, but hope everyone has a fun and safe trip.  We look forward to seeing pictures!  Next year!

Well .... hoping to make Thursday and Friday ... but as Pastor of two small Methodist congregations ya never know.  My churches are 80% elderly folk ... you never really know what the next phone will bring.  Small churches allow me a degree of flexibility to get a good bit of local riding in ... but getting away for more than a day or two is a challenge. But, wouldn't trade it for the world ... until retirement, hopefully in three years:-)

This is the 5th rally since I joined the site back in 2013. Three of them, counting this one, have been a easy ride from me BUT something has always come up.  But I got most of the t-shirts:-)

Expect to be at the Red Roof IF I make it. REALLY want to be there for the Dega Forrest ride.  Fingers crossed.

BTW, sorry to hear Bill and Vicki won't be able to make it:-(

Brian & I will be riding our bikes down there & expect to be there on Tuesday. Charlie had a tornado total out one of his 2 pole buildings yesterday. A lot of his stuff has been lost. He won't be making it. Gonna be busy up until then helping him clean up the mess.

We will be staying at the Red Roof Inn.

Sorry to here about Charlie’s pole building.  Bob was up in that area last weekend.  He didn’t make it all the way to Wausau but close.  He had rain. But mostly dodged it.  Be safe on the way down to the Rally.

« Reply #25 on: August 31, 2018, 01:39:23 PM »

We are all ready to hit the road about 8 this morning.

We have some surprise news for all. After all his tests regarding the seizure, Peteís been cleared to ride.  Heís going to take it slow and if he sits out a day he sits out a day

Now for just stupid news, I trashed my knee Wednesday.  So guess whoís not riding.

So I will drive the truck down.

So itís a scooter rally with lots of vehicles.   This rally will be follow the big red truck rally ;)

Donít worry itís got a ďhemi in itĒ

I cried and moped about all day yesterday.  Even irrationally almost went and bought a Spyder F3.   Thatís not the answer, I know.

The bike Gods donít want me riding obviously. Iím glad this happened here at home and not on the road.   I guess Iím headed to some surgery when back home...

See yíall soon!!

Man! Maggie sorry to hear your news!  BUT, glad to hear Pete will be able to ride!!!

My "tentative" plan is to meet the group in Lynchburg on Wednesday at or after lunch.  Ride back with them.  Ride the TNF ride on Thursday.  Then ride the er, uh, Friday ride that you were leading. :-(

I could lead the Friday ride to South Pittsburg and lunch at the Dixie Freeze, if that helps?  Then I gotta head back from there Ö someone else could lead'm back to Scottsboro?

Of course, all my plans could be shot to poop with next phone call:-)
