Now, this is one fine looking machine.  Certainly doesn't show its age.

That's a nice looking bike.  Nicely broken in I suspect and a great high performance LD traveler.  I agree--lose the trunk unless going for a trip somewhere and you need it.  Is it a good deal?

It's an 'ok' deal, not a spectacular bargain at the $4000 asking price, but I expect it can be bought for maybe $3800 if I don't demand they put a new front tire on it as part of the deal.

The front tire has some serious cracking in what tread it has left, a bit scary... especially at 90 mph on I-90 with the cruise control, which I did for a mile or two on yesterday's short test ride.

The bike is a consignment, but there should be a little wiggle room on the price.

If I buy it, the Givi tailpack will be off the bike within ten minutes of hitting that garage, should fetch a few bucks on eBay, otherwise, I expect no other changes done to it.

I've decided to hold off on the K1200 for a week or three. It's very tempting, but I'm resisting the impulse to snap it up. I'll keep tabs on it, and re-think it after a little 'cool-off' period.

They are great bikes. I once lusted after one.  One of the issues that killled it for me was that there’s no place to attach highway pegs.

JB, the only reason to hang on to that top box is if you anticipate ever needing it.  If you don't, then eBay or Criaigslist here we come.  That bike has nice lines, so it would be a shame to spoil them with that Givi box.  Actually, the BMW top box isn't bad looking, but if you don't need a trunk to begin with, why bother?

Wow! No more impulse buying?        I like it, with the only caveat being they're expensive to maintain- but probably not anymore so than anything else, I guess.

Oh, there'll be plenty of future impulse buying.

Never mind, I bought a twenty-eight year old, 50,000, $5300 car instead of the bike.

Oh, and it was an impulse buy.

Just curious, where was the bike located? Not a real fan of the BMW except for a few models and that is one of them. IMO the K series was one of the best. Once again IMO the top box isn't the preferred one but it is a Givi. Good stuff and very usable.

Sturgis BMW/Guzzi/Yamaha/Suzuki.

I think it's now called Black Hills Motorsports.

Ask for 'Jake'.
