Not a good thing ... and we may be getting that here tomorrow !   But look at what happened in Maryland last week !  Now that was a rain storm.

But look at what happened in Maryland last week !  Now that was a rain storm.

We have family in Ellicott City, fortunately a few miles from the historic district. On Mothers' Day, Mary and I drove through, marveling at how much it had recovered from the 2016 storm flood.

Two weeks later, to the day, ...

... all that progress was swept away in another storm flood.

Storms are causing issues in quite a few places. Flooding certainly is nothing new, but it seems parts of Maryland and Virginia are unusually hard hit this year.

They called this flood in Maryland "The 1000 Year Flood" but, (and I'm almost 100% sure about this) none of those that said that were around a millenia ago.
At any rate, you NEVER want to challenge "worse".

that's a lot of water.  The eastern states have really been hammered.  Not nice.
