I have some scooter content to post on Vegas. I'll get this thread updated later this evening.

Vegas is a little cooler then I thought it would be! I had an interesting situation with 2 mock show girls I may share about.  :D

There's not much scooter content here in Vegas but did see a few things notable.

I met up with Sam, Colby and Brian. Here's a quick pic and I'll post the rest when I settle in for the evening.

Sam, Colby and Brian met me at the hotel and we were off for breakfast.

After breakfast they offered to run me out to Red Rock Canyon Nat'l Park. Wow! What a grand view we had just outside Las Vegas! I had no idea.... There was a rental scooter so we do have some scooter content..

Sandstone blocks.

A few more pics as we were parting.

We stopped at a great place called Cottonwood Station.

I had my first Montucky Cold Snack - Montana's beer.

At breakfast I had prepared a strange gift for my scooter thugs Virginian style. (The El Polo Loco is an inside joke)

With a pic of each of their bikes on the back.

Colby was very generous and had custom pocket knives made for us. Way cool!

In closing I would like to say thank you to each of these fine fellows. I'm absolutely blown away that someone would hop in a car and drive all the way to Vegas to have a meal with me. Honestly, I don't deserve such kindness and I'm humbled by all the gentlemen. Imu, we missed you and wished you were there. I am blessed beyond belief from many folks here in Battle Scooters. Gentlemen from the bottom of my heart, thank you.

Chillis turned me onto a place to go investigate and get away from the debauchery in Vegas. There's a saloon called the Pioneer Saloon that dates back to 1903 that's rich with history.
http://www.pioneersaloon.info/

If you're riding through it's worth a stop by for a look see.

This place is chock full of history but much of it has been demolished/burned down like the old two story hotel. Also bullet holes in the wall in the saloon where somebody was shot during a poker game. This saloon is also where Clark Gable waited out word on Carol Lombard's safety after her plane crashed into the mountain out back. Sadly she passed away...

The bullet holes where a dude got shot and died over a poker game.

Last item of maybe interest to some of you we hit up the Neon Boneyard. Here is where all the old neon signs from Las Vegas' hay day go to rest and it was cool to see these from many years ago. As luck would have it they had a Tim Burton exhibit. If you're a TB fan it would be worth your time to peruse these pics. The bone yard was way cool as well. Read about it here. https://www.neonmuseum.org/

Some of TB's doodles.

That's it for this trip, back to scooters in a few days as I'm waiting on parts.

Life is short, enjoy the ride!

Thanks Eric.  Once  again a great and interesting report and ride along.

How far was that saloon from Vegas?  Very interesting.

About 35 to 40 minutes driving. There's quite a bit of cool stuff to see out there like old gold mines and the ghost towns that were left behind.

My missing link, the screw I ordered arrived on Saturday. Has anyone else notice that e-commerce sites are trending towards sending a confirmation email of your order accompanied with a picture?

And it's arrival.

I ordered a rather large item from China and received a confirmation email as well with a pic and just received it as well. This one got hung up in customs for three months.

And this sticker was on it as well.

Anywho, what a wild world we live in! I'll have Gray Ghost up and rolling this week and hope to be riding it soon.

A small update on Skeeter and the Ruckus, I had to prod him a few times to get a status update while I was away. He had a zero mph tip over and the scoot is no worse for the wear. Welcome to our world and crossing over that bridge Skeet.

A 100 miles into it and he's still alive. Score!

The missing bolt for the Gray Ghost should be arriving soon and I will get that one back on the road dodging snow flakes. I did very well in Las Vegas and absconded some of my ill gotten gains for a few tidbits for the GG. I checked on a windscreen and should mention that I gravitate towards OEM as I feel the hardware is superior.

First I looked at a winter screen that somewhat covered your hands. Holy smokes!!!! $341 dollars, I passed on this one and aesthetically I just don't like it.

So off to the fly screen and hopefully it's cheaper. Nope!

Odd thing is the part number is alien to google and Piaggio so the parts person at AF1 is chasing that rabbit down the hole for me. Either way it will be 6 to 8 weeks to get. Doh! Either way, AF1's followup with me is second to none.

Next up when I get the time is to order a rear rack and painted to match top box. Cha-ching! Pimp'n ain't easy...

Thanks for tuning in to my mess of a thread.

That Trump sticker.... lol.

One of the best parts of owning a scooter is the people we have met along the way and made life long friends.

I have and this may sound silly but the hardware that Piaggio uses really makes the accessory look finished rather than an after thought. When I get a moment I'll take a pic of the hardware on the other scoot. I know, I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed.  Thank you for stopping by and commenting.

AF1 got back with me and Kirk had taken the time to mount, take pics and email the different screens for mt Gray Ghost. I am at a loss for words at this kind of service. Customer for life I am!

I emailed him back, I'll take it! Within 30 minutes I was billed the the item was packaged and tracking into was sent to me. So this windshield is on the bench waiting to be installed. I have turkey day tomorrow with my family and I'll be doing final assembly on Black Friday or Saturday.

To all my scooter and motorcycle friends, I wish you all the best this Thanksgiving and hope you share it with loved ones.

Sincerely,

Eric

Final assembly of the Gray Ghost went smooth as silk and I installed a pigtail for my Battery Tender and heated Jacket. I cant say I'm a fan of it hanging out from the battery mat but I'll remove it come spring.

I installed the OEM windshield that I ordered from AF1 as well. I mentioned that I prefer OEM windshields as I feel Piaggio does a magnificent job planning ahead during design and development. In this case there's two large holes to accommodate the windshield as seen in this pic.

The main spar of the windshield have compression rubber stoppers for a easy install.

One thing notable is that Vespa places a hologram sticker with a specific serial number on their windshields. I guess knock offs are getting a tad out of hand?

After a very easy install I removed the warning stickers on the windshield and you guessed it, the stickers leave a nasty residue of glue on the windshield.

Pro tip: Use Zippo or Ronson lighter fluid, it melts the glue away like magic!

Got her all installed and then realized I forgot to install the mirrors!!!   So I had to remove the windshield and then install the mirrors.

The Gray Ghost is ready for winter duty!  scooter

One thing that may be notable is the crest ornament on the front fender is actually  an arch with a space in it. Something I've never seen on a Vespa.

After hooking up the pigtail for the Battery tender I knew I had to reset the gauge cluster back to English, mph, clock, etc., etc. I was playing Xmas carols off my phone on the Bluetooth speaker and when I turned the scoot on the Mia picked right up on what I was playing. lol

I hope all of you are in good health and in the wind this holiday season. Thanks for stopping by and reading my meanderings.

Eric the Gray Ghost looks great.  The pigtail is just fine for the winter.  As long as your warm.

BTW my prescription is just fine.
