I got her running pretty good but the clutch needs adjusting bad. I decided to go on an adventure today. I took the P up to Joe Joe's for a pizza and sub run, round trip about 25 miles. The adventure part of this ride if I would make it, it did! Well that's a start.

What an exciting weekend we had. Bob and Cathy rode out from Chicago to Philly for their nephew's wedding and they swung south for a quick visit at Casa De Redneck. They didn't even get their helmets off before I handed them a cold beer. Traveling around Philly, Baltimore, DC can be more than a challenge. After they cleaned up we all settled in for a nice supper.

I was poking around in the garage looking at their rigs. I have never seen a Silver Wing up close and wow, it's a big scoot! Cathy's steed standing tall.

Look at her set! I tips me lid it Bob and Cathy for the technology that their fingertips while on the road.

We had a good breakfast and Cathy took a terrible pic of me rustling up some grub for everyone.

The route we planned for the day was 522 to 33 west, hang a right on Skyline Drive and head north to Front Royal. Grab a quick bite to eat and then double back on 340 to 221 through the Shenandoah Nat'l Forest, shoot back down 522 to Lake Anna. Skyline Drive has a 35 mph speed limit so traveling along there and stopping at overlooks was the goal. We had the most perfect weather for riding. As in the best day weather wise this year! Woohoo!

The first stop.

We met these two gents from NY that were enjoying the day as well.

Their choice of rides.

Random shots.

So we settled in for a nice chicken alfredo supper and watched Evel Live to see Travis make a few jumps.

And they're off to Chi-town and hopefully the roads I put them on will be rewarding on their way home.

Life is short, enjoy the ride.

Eric and Lisa,

Bob an I had a wonderful time at your place riding, weather, conversation, food, bed a d beer of course the whole short stay was excellent.  Thanks, again for your gracious southern hospitality.
Was a nice break from all the heat we endured the week prior to the wedding.

We got home safe yesterday.  We will take my Swing in and have the steering bearings replaced in the next couple of days.

I will when I catch my breath.  Been at the hospital with Bob’s Mom all day.  Got home at 8:30. She was transferred to a Rehab Senior Care facility late this afternoon.  Will see each her tomorrow also.

Since Mom is doing better we will be going to the BMW Rally Friday and Saturday.  We will be driving and staying at a motel.  Originally we were going for four days and camping. plans change.  I will try and post something soon.  Wonderful wonderful road!

Virginian:
You did a fantastic job re: the post & pictures. It doesn't
matter what you ride the proof is in the enjoyment of riding.
I was on the B/R Parkway last week then up to near Leesburg
there to Gettysburg NP. Four days-1056 miles on a Silverwing.
The enjoyment is riding. I wish I had a mounted video camera.
GREAT JOB

Thanks Joe! I wish I had known and maybe could of met up with you or you could have pit-stopped here for the evening. I was just in Gettysburg a couple of weeks ago on my Harley and thought about posting that here but didn't because of no scooter content. There's great riding in that area!

Sorry for the late reply, but sad I cannot go as I have a guest scooting by to stay at Casa De Redneck. Keep me in mind if you have future adventures planned!

I just got back from escorting Conchscooter around some nice country roads covered in canopy trees, got him pointed in the right direction for his destination in Florence, SC this eveing. The scooter gods have smiled upon us this day with no rain... yet...

First a few pics to get caught up here. I left the garage open and banner up for the welcome wagon upon his arrival. Yeah, I know I already posted this pic. Martinis in hand it was a celebration of life in the making.

Booted Mrs. Vs car out of the garage to make space. hehe

I love the Key West Mile Marker 0 key ring!

Went out for supper and got him a proper ribeye with a nice garlic butter pad melting down on it.

We pigged out and had the waitress take the obligatory photo. That's the owner in the background photo bombing our pic. lol

A couple more beverages and Mr. Sandman was calling.

We got up fairly early looking forward to doing some riding but he wanted to take a spin on my P200e. I dove into the kitchen to scare up a artery slamming breakfast. Cheddar cheese omelets, extra think applewood smoked bacon, and my world famous cheddar cheese biscuits with drizzled garlic butter over them.  Well... maybe not world famous but they're famous in my world. ;) He bought one new in 1981 and toured all over the west coast as well as in South America. I hope he writes his memoirs about that trip someday.

Thus the instant bond with the P200e to fumigate the neighborhood of any mosquitoes. Off he goes in a cloud of smoke!

At one of the stops this morning I had to twist his arm to try out the 946.

Final stop as this is where I jumped off to head home and wished him all the best on his journey home.

I get within about 20 miles from home and the heavens open up and a frog strangler came pouring down. Of course I don't have my rain gear with me. Gah! I get home and start peeling off the soaked layers and I get a big grin on my face as I'm staring at my rain covered helmet. Another page has been turned in my riding portfolio and I'm blessed to have met another fine person to share my adventures with and have them share theirs with me. This was a great day in my life and hopefully it was for Conchscooter.

Life is short, enjoy the ride.

I was out riding today and a very old man looked to be hauling home two barn finds. The one on the right is a Matchless and the BMW (maybe an R27?) I don't know my older beemers. I wish I had gotten a few better pics and I hope pops restores them.

I was just making some final adjustments for my scooter trip to Nags Head, NC using the supplied software Tyre for my TomTom Rider 400. Normally I just hook up the nav to my PC and just click the upload button. Not so this time, it appears that Google maps that Tyre piggybacked off of put the halt to all other apps using Google Maps. So transferring the (.trf) file from Tyre isn't compatible any more.

So I log onto Tyre to see what the issue is.

4 September 2017 by Michel van Hagen
Due to a problem on the Google server, Tyre is currently not able to calculate any routes. This happened before, and we hope that this problem will be solved quickly.
Unfortunately, other errors come with this problem, such as errors in creating waypoints.

Via www.myrouteapp.com, you have a good alternative to making routes and exporting to your GPS.
http://www.tyretotravel.com/

So I called TomToms customer service line which transfers you out to Calcutta... The gent never heard of Tyre mapping, I'm like dude it's your supplied software for the Rider 400. He instructed me to use mydrive.tomtom.com which is kind of a quick fix.

So I rerouted my planned route on MyDrive and was able to port it over to the GPS. My takeaway from this is the Google machine is getting nasty big and squeezing out the small players. I'm very quietly disconnecting myself from Google as I don't agree with this type of practice.

Tyre's proposed route.

The same route more or less on MyDrive.

The real time traffic issues this evening.

And ported over to my Rider 400.

Ain't technology grand?  :lamer:
