I finally broke out the Nikon for the 1st time this year & made it all the way to the end of the driveway where a pomegranate tree lives. I'd been watching this particular bud for the past week waiting for it to explode as it was at the right height and exposure to the sun. The bougainvillea bush keeps the scoot company.

These shots were all taken with the Sigma 100mm macro.
The bougainvillea shots are one day apart. After the bee got done doing what bees do the flower started shutting closing up shop.
Click on the photo to see it full size 1200x800.

My lovely flowers of choice! I go out in the afternoon and the bees are all over them, then later, the butterflies come in for a snack 😊

We don't have dandelions in our yard for some reason.
We do get a decent crop of camomile from time to time and burrs by the dog full.

Wow!  Very nice photos.  That 100 macro does a good job.  I sometimes give some thought going full frame, but I really don't think that would happen.  But if it did, I'd look seriously at the D750.  Good job.  We don't have any flowers yet to photograph, but I'll be all over them when they come.

Here's the best of the bee shots (cropped), straight out of the camera. I'd forgotten that I'd been screwing around and was only saving jpg fine and not RAW for these shots. But, even at that the D750 & Sigma do a pretty good job.
(now lets see if I can upload it - made it!)

We owe it all to a local nursery.  Every Spring Peggy plants flowers in planters on our back deck.  Sure dresses it up back there.  I get to do the heavy stuff, like hauling in the bags of planting soil and dumping it into each of the planters.  it'a hard work, but worth it. Besides, I get to take pictures of them!

After helping a farm family (neighbors) for a few years I've retired from farming regardless of the size.
My idea of a perfect lawn would include cement & green paint at best or that plastic stuff at worst.

Hear, hear!!!!!
As of last Nov, I've downsized from 40 acres to 3.5. Just a spot on the hill side. I've already discussed the concrete/green paint with the wife, but due to the size/slope it wasn't feasible. Still searching for a reasonable solution so I can sell the mower. That'd leave more room in the garage for one more scooter!!!!!
Then I can continue to take photos of neighbors flowers/weeds while those old farts do the work.....
I don't miss the pork/beef on hoof, but I do miss the hosses. They be like big dogs with hoofs that you can ride
Sorry Greg:

What'cha need is one of those organic mowers that even work well in uneven terrain.

But wait! There's more! Once properly fueled they can be used to pull you around in your custom made buggy!

They even fertilize as they go and are considered by some to be a good source of green energy.
