Wonderful ride report and I love your scoot, also fond of your XR1200.

It's funny what sticks out but seeing that photo of your mom on her old Ducati was great.  Things may not have happened as you planned but that makes them all the more memorable.

Dan,

When I was much younger I dreaded riding with her because of the stop light coat. Sadly, I'm ashamed that I was embarrassed now as she's 85 and doesn't ride anymore. I was a foolish young man back then... What I wouldn't give to ride with my parents again!

She's toured all over the world on bikes with my pop and wrote many great ride reports. I'm trying to resurrect some of them converting slides into digital pics, etc. I'll be happy to share if there's interest?

Here's a great pic of me and my mom on my first bike, Yamaha RD400! Gotta love the mullet...

Eric

I don't know which is cooler, the pictures or the fact that you own a $10,000 Vespa 155cc AND an $800 Valentino Rossi helmet.

**tongue in cheek** You know you could buy a REAL motorcycle for that:-)**tongue in cheek**

:-)  Thats what a lot of us scooter riders have heard, eh.  Great pics, thanks for posting.

Business in the front; Party in the back. Great picture, though. I have many slides that could benefit from the same plan you are attempting.

I wonder if she thought when she wore that jacket... Good Luck because at the stop light is the only place you are going to see me!

I'm with Dan.  I would love to have that jacket.

Not only is it a cool jacket but it's totally color coordinated with the helmet and bike with the splashes of yellow.  That's the kind of stuff I do when picking out gear.  Don't know if it was intentional but I love it.

I'm going to visit with her in a week or two, I'll see if she still has it! ;)

I was lucky enough to have caught this report in real time on ADV.  It was really cool being able to log into Glympse and watch Eric as he was riding.  the App showed a moving map of where Eric was riding and showed his speed.  I remember him going up I-59 with speeds ranging from 60 to as high as 70 MPH.  Not bad for a scooter advertised to have a top speed of 61 if I remember correctly.  One time I was watching as his speed dropped to zero and he stopped moving right at the Al/GA state line.  I think he stopped to take a picture of the welcome to GA sign.

Anyway, it was definitely an epic trip for a scooter that small.
