Is anyone planning on making this? It will be the last of what's become a motorcyclists "must do" rides and should be an epic affair.

I will not be going this year.  I have a bridal shower  that I am co-hosting on that day.

Bob may go.  Bruce are you going?  Come and see your friend you saw last year when you came to the WI Rally and then you and Bob can go down on Saturday and meet up with Maggie and Pete.   Just a thought.  Hope it warms up around here.

Just ordered a new tire for the Goldwing, which I'll ride there. I won't be shooting for the Iron Butt certificate, because it will boil down to a last minute decision.  I did the final Michigan Midnight Run, and this being the last Moonshine Run, I'd really like to make this one too.

Bruce keep us posted.  Asked Bob if he was still considering and he is.  He will be keeping and eye on the weather.  But now that he knows it is the last one it would have to be severe weather. When do you on leaving Home?

I'm still on the maybe list, but knowing it's the last one, I'd like to make it.  Somewhere in the next month or so I have to make a trip for a short meeting in Denver.  If I was truly bold I'd do a Saddlesoar 1,000 from Chicago to Denver on Thursday and then a Saddlesoar 1,000 from Denver to Casey on Friday.  That's a true lunatic plan, but I bet it would be an adventure and the people at the Denver meeting understand riding.

The more likely event is that I'll either take off for Casey from Chicago Saturday morning.  Spend a couple hours in Casey eat a burger, say hi to whomever is out that I see, then move on to southern Indiana / Kentucky coming home Sunday night or Monday night.  Bruce and Bob if you want to ride together let me know.

Casey is a fun little town with lots of BIG things to see!!
In 4027, a historian at an excavation site known as the Casey Extreme Sight will unearth these artifacts proving there were giants living among the average people 2 millennia ago. Funds are being raised to further more excavations to find the actual human remains.

Those are great!!! I like going to places like that.

It shows how addled I am.  Each time I've spent more of my time in the parking lot of the host hotel talking to old IBA riders.  I've learned a great deal from those guys but I also missed out on other things.

Yes it was a great day!  The line was long but he gave a chance to visit.  I wonder being the last year will it be even more crowded.

Here's a tip from someone who has been to Moonshine 3x:  Get there EARLY!!!

Glad I was able to make it last year. Had fun meeting up with you and Pete.  Weather was nice too.

I don't mind riding in rain if I get caught in it and I have to, but the weather here is showing rain for the next four or five days. That doesn't make for a fun 800 mile ride to get a burger, so I guess I'm going to miss this once again.

I'm still on the fence.  The combination of questionable weather and work.  If there is a way to get out of dodge on Saturday morning I'll ride down, get a burger and hang for a couple hours.  Then make my way down to Southern Indiana for late day riding, stay over, ride Kentucky Sunday morning and home Sunday late afternoon and evening.

Same here, Bob’s on the fence.  Rain and cooler temps expected here in Chicago and rain in Casey.  We certainly got lucky last year.  Glad I got to go at least once.

Bruce, I wouldn’t want to ride with that kind of forecast either.

The weather will stop us from going for sure... but I had another reason as well.  I swear Pete and I are getting full use of ER's this year.
Torn ligament... I gotta heal up because we go to Syderfest in 2 1/2 weeks.    Well we ride to where Syderfest is and of course do our own more exciting rides :-)   We are looking forward to seeing Pitbull's new dealership and the vendors.

Sorry to hear of your pain, Maggie.  Be careful not to further injure the ligament.  I kind of think with the weather forecast that it won't be too much fun.

It looks like the weather will make the last Moonshine Run a bust.
I hope the owners don't take too big of a hit.
I'm sure they have a crapload of meat in their cooler/

The hardcore people will go and buy two to help Helen out.   The rest of us slackers will be like Harley riders and not want rain on the chrome ;)

The first year we went we left the out at 32 degrees and came home in 80 degree weather and got sunburned.  Oh spring... gotta love it!

FTR, just because the Run is over doesn't mena the store is closing.  If you are near you should go.

I've never planned a ride for our club because it is just an ugh of a ride....  I keep saying we need a club weekend ride to Moonshine, Casey and then onto Terre Haute for their 40 covered bridges.  Maybe this year?

They are having a fundraiser next week so if they don't use all the meat in the freezer this week they will be ready for next week.

Saw this on FB:

It's a family benefit for a young lady I work with. She hit s gaurd rail, flipped her SUV 5 times, was ejected from the sunroof after her seat belt broke, shattered two vertebrae, broke her right arm, collapsed one lung and punctured the other. When the paramedics find her, they told the family she wouldn't make the flight to the hospital. At first I thought we were raising money for a funeral. But she lived and has made a miraculous recovery. So we're raising money to help with her medical bills.

I'm glad to hear that. I always cheer for the mom and pop stores. It's tough to make a buck nowadays.

About 1/2 what they did last year.  But pretty respectable for the crappy weather they had.
