This weekend, I was part of a motorcycle instructor audience with a Can-Am representative. The rep indicated Can-Am will introduce an entry level model, with two front wheels and one rear wheel, in September 2018. Can Am intends to set the retail price "below $10,000."

There were no photos, no details, no specifications (except as previously noted) presented, but the plan to produce an entry level model to increase market share and to generate enthusiasm for future high-end, and more profitable, Spyder sales seems to make good sense.

My wife, who has little interest riding on two wheels, immediately responded that she's interested. That may be the type of reaction Can-Am seeks. Not much information now, but I'll look forward to additional info as it becomes available.

Looks like Can-Am might be looking into ways to keep afloat in the midst of a sagging motorcycle market.  Given the high cost of any of the current Spyder models, an entry level Spyder at under $10k is an attractive idea.  Weíll be waiting to see what comes of this.
