A few days ago, a man in Kansas bought my formerly derelict 2003 650 Burgman.

Then yesterday, the owner of the Powerbrokers powersport consignment shop  here in Rapid City had decided to purchase Teresa's Harley Deluxe for resale. Then today, a local woman who wanted to buy my '99 Honda Shadow Aero a month ago for what I paid for it, reminded me that she, in fact, would be buying it.

So! That will leave me with the Indian and Guzzi V7....for now, but March 1st, I will have payed down the loan on the Indian to the point where I can get it on to the market, and I'll be pushing that bike very hard to get it sold too.

For the first time in many years, I will then only own one motorcycle, and Teresa will have only her BMW.

But! As you may suspect, I have NO intention of owning only one motorcycle for very long.

Too many to write up here, suffice it to say about twenty different bikes, and maybe thirty different cars, or something I haven't thought of yet.

JB, your method of trading and buying sure does a lot to info the rest of us.  I think you did the right thing with the Burgman.  You had winter fun with it and didn't lose money for doing it.

I lost about $125 on the Burgman, because I didn't charge anything extra for the used windshield I bought for it on eBay. But I'm getting hammered so badly on depreciation with the Indian that I don't even notice little stuff like that.

I expect to lose about $8000 on the Indian Vintage in the not quite two years I've had it. I'll be lucky to get $14,500 for it, and it's new price was $22,500.

Never again. I've learned my lesson about buying 'premium brand' machines.

I'm surprised you buy any new bikes.
You do so much better when you buy and sell used.

I may be screwed again though. Today I discovered the 2018 Hayabusa in white and red, with white wheels...and I'm smitten. For now anyway, it has been soundly ensconced at the top of my vehicle lust heap. In my eyes, this thing is almost irresistible, and everyone knows that there are few things sexier than a geezers on a hyper-powered sportbike.

You can always wait a couple of years and buy it as a leftover.

.

I'm 67, time isn't something I mess around with. Two years are two riding seasons, that's more important than the savings on a discounted non-current.
