According to Google Earth 2018 it looks like broken asphalt that's not been repaired for a few decades.

It's gravel.  Gravel and hard pan actually. Rode it a couple summers ago! It was fun ... a little hairy the first quarter mile due to loose gravel ... but fun. There's a neat old train depot at the foot of the hill.

Nearby Bridgeport has cool Railroad museum. AND you can ride up north of Stevenson into TN to Jim's Smokehouse!

Yeah, what he said. Lots of tar/gravel roads in rural Bama.
I live on such a road and have to drive over a mile on it just to get to a nice road.
They aren't really that bad as long as you don't try to go fast and lean on curves.

Darn, and I thought I was being cute by googling Orme Mountain Road and finding it is a gravel road.  Oh well.  Looks like it would have been a fun road to ride on the Vstrom.

Thanks Ron!   I was originally headed that way for the Smokehouse.  Now I have a different destination.

Might be fun on the Spyder, though.
