Nor so much anymore. Dunno why but this Dec-Feb. has been a real bummer. My interest in riding has plummeted. Seems I'd rather play golf at 45* than ride at 45*.   Who woulda thunk it?

Anyhow had a pretty decent, albeit chilli, ride Sat.  90 miles to the BBQ place we been wanting to try.  After a cold ride starting out at 40 .... made it up to 49 for a while then went back to 43 b4 getting back home.  Worst of all ....

Oh well, found another new to us BBQ place that was really good. 143 miles total. Not a bad ride fer Feb. 3rd.

Spring, oh spring please hasten your arrival!

Older I get the less inclined I am to ride in the cold.  Robin and I met up for a ride yesterday but instead of meeting in the morning we waited until lunch time to let it warm up a bit.   Afternoon was nice though.  Temps got up into the 60s with sunshine.  Put 198 miles on my 650.

Not riding this morning though.  It's 24 degrees out there.

I generally don't leave the house on the bike if it's under 50.

When I went out to shovel my driveway this morning it was 22F. It is up to a balmy 24 now. I suspect that it will be March before I can ride again. Envious of those that can ride now.

Guys (Gals), you know that when you can't ride, it is mod time.
And if the bike still starts and runs, you haven't modded enough!!!!

It was -3 Sunday night on my way home just southwest of Chicago.  Needless to say I was looking at the thermometer in the Subaru Outback.  They're not predicting above freezing weather in Chicago until early March.

In the mean time I have one bike that needs work on the computer (DN-01), TMAX that needs to get an estimate for the damaged fiberglass so Allstate will pay for the damage their insured did to it and an FJR that's perfectly ready to go.  The TMAX is really ready to go the work is just an estimate of body damage that I'll never pay to fix, after they pay me.  The back fender is bent in and some fiberglass has scratches.

We've been enjoying FL this winter.  We are coming back next year again for 6 months... BUT with the bikes.  Will make me much happier.  Not that we would have rode at home but....

Maggie, you might have ridden a little if you stayed home.  A week ago Saturday I was in St Louis and it was a high of 60 degrees.

Somebody needs to shoot that danged woodchuck and put him out of our misery.

I might have tried to ride around the property where I've kept my scooters for the winter, but the door is frozen down solid with an inch & a half of ice all the way across at the bottom. But! things are going to be melting with near record temps about 62-64F up here in southeast Michigan today. The downside to that is that it will be accompanied with heavy rain ...
I did manage to get a riding fix of sorts riding around the storage space property at about 1:30 AM New Years Day though... But dang! it was cold then. cold

However, cabin fever does seem to be easing up some with the appearance of dead grass from under all the melting snow. Good thing since the snowblower quit working with the last snow.
Oh how I long for spring and return of the robins.
Yeah, yeah, yeah... I know, I know...  I'm not the only one whining about this winter, but have pity on me.

Ma Nature ain't nothing if she ain't fickle.

No more than a half hour after posting the weather report from yesterday but the wind blew the cloud cover away opening up patches of blue, then along came some white fluffy clouds so I hopped on my trusty steed and entertained myself with 40 hair raising minutes of 120kph, morning traffic, lane splitting.

That's pucker power!

Weather here has been wet wet wet for 2 weeks. Weather prognosticators say we will finally get some sunshine Sunday.  Maybe I can get a ride in.

No fun riding in the cold, 40 years of riding I have nothing left to prove. Although this year I got smart! I moved the trailer from in front of the shed & have snow blown a path to it so as soon as it starts warming out they come. My Pacific Coast sprung a gas leak. As soon as I can I'll get it to the shop before they get busy.
