« on: December 06, 2017, 07:37:56 AM »

Went to The Metropolitan Art Museum in NYC today.  First time there. Got up to 60į degrees today but rainy.
Here is a pic of their Christmas tree.

Also went to Brooklyn Botanical Garden.

Yesterday we went into St. Patís Cathedral.

CathyN,

Daughter number 3 lives there ... in Long Island City just across the East River.  Been there twice.  My wife LOVES the place.  She has been 6-8 times I think.

I enjoy our treks there to see the city ... Christy ... and her cute as can be mutt Ellis.

NYC is a interesting place.  Going back next year I reckon.

See the Intrepid if y'all have the time.

To me, NYC is like a foreign country. My adopted son has family there. So I've been there a few times. It's like the dentist for this country boy...
I'll go when I gotta, but I don't enjoy it.

Great pictures.  Isn't the Cathedral magnificent?

It is beautiful.

This is my 2nd time to NYC.  I was here 10 years ago with my oldest brother. Who is with me this time also.  It is a totally different environment than I am used to in Chicago.  At home I drive everywhere.  NYC. No way. I have been here since 8 pm Sunday night.  My brother drove into Brooklyn where we are staying and the car has stayed put. We will move it when we leave for NJ for a family wedding on Friday morning.

It is a very interesting city.  Saw some stuff I didn’t see last time.  Going to the 911 Memorial tomorrow.  Had pretty mild weather. Saw a couple of shows.  Having a good time.  Probably walked 20 miles in the last three days. My legs are killing me.   I would not want to live in NYC but visiting it every decade not bad.

Really glad you are having a fun trip Cathy.  Which shows did you see?   Have never been to NY but a visit there is at the top of my wife's bucket list.  We keep thinking a cruise to Bermuda out of NY would cover both of our top spots on the visit bucket lists.
Enjoy the wedding !

Looking forward to the wedding.  Hope I can dance after all my walking this week. Knees and ankles are talking to me. Not saying nice things either. ☹️

Mike, we saw A Bronx Tale and the Rockettes Christmas Show.  Both were very good.

Hereís a picture of the NYC shyline from the Brooklyn Heights Promenade.

Went to the 911 Memorial today. We took a guided tour with the 911 Tribute Center.  Our guide Marty was a 1st responder FDNY paramedic. He was on the scene just after it came down. He was a great guide.  Very moving day.
