I'm glad this found some interest here.  The Nova Scotia Web cam showing the MacKay Bridge .....  https://www.novascotiawebcams.com/en/webcams/mackay-bridge/  also shows the narrows from Bedford Basin into Halifax Harbour. The site of the Explosion was just to the right of the bridge and very near to the power station stacks seen in a drone video of a container ship passing though the narrows into the basin to a container terminal.     https://youtu.be/__xD8MJXyEc

In this video Dartmouth is on the left and Halifax on the right.  The hill on the Halifax side was wiped out.  The large white building that can be seen along the Halifax shoreline is the assembly building for the current shipbuilding project.  My grandfather's kiln was a little beyond that area.  Once the container ship is in the basin and turning towards the Fairview Container Terminal, you can get a look at the size of Bedford Basin ....the area where the ships would gather prior to leaving for the war overseas.   My home is on the hill at the far end of the basin.
