Don't sweat the small stuff...it's all small stuff

Not really, but it looked like it.  The other day it was spectacular out so I drove up to the Hatcher Pass area to where the bridge goes over the Little Susitna River.  It was almost completely frozen up, but what caught my eye was this area where the water froze over slowly because it's relatively fast flowing there, and created this appearance of surf on a beach.  The light was fading fast, so I had to set up quickly and shoot before I lost the light.  Anyway, I thought this was interesting.

Hey!  How are ya?  I gather you’re in Hawaii for awhile.  You missed it yesterday when it was 0 out.

Very interesting

Yes, The Little Susitna River and the Hatcher Pass area is a favorite of ours.  The Little Su, as we call it, seems to be different each time I go there, which makes it interesting to photograph.

Great summer shot too Greg.  It would be wonderful to be able to sit on those rocks and hear the water flowing and watch the scenery.  The is something calling to us to watch the water like this or the ocean from a beach.

Thanks, Mike.  That’s a pretty special place, for sure.  Like I said, it looks different every time I go out there, and it’s only abouit 15 miles from the house.

Hopefully we can connect for a cup when you’ve got a break in the remodeling fun.

Here's a suggestion for Kelly.  With the family wedding handy Portland next summer ..... maybe planning an extra week for a  4.5 hour ride on Bay Ferries Cat from Portland to Nova Scotia may be worth considering.   Being that close to Peggy's Cove Light House or historic Lunenburg ... why not take an extended trip and visit the sticky out bit of Canada too?

Just a thought,

Mike
