How about a new thread featuring unusual/interesting names of places you've ridden to or thru. I'll go first. Introducing Bugtussle KY. It's literally a wide spot in the road. Population two. Then we left. Population now 0. Nice roads there and back though. Sirkitrider

Lots of fun named places in Texas. Been through most of them including Uncertain. Rarely stop to take pictures though. Will try to remember to next time I pass through one.

Yeah, I figured there would be plenty of fun ones from all over. It's kinda like the "mail box fun" thread ... I don't stop to takes pics of a lot of them either. Need to do better for both😀 Sirkitrider

We have HELL here in Michigan... been there a couple times... Naturally a cheesy tourist stop. Also a place up in the thumb area of the state called Bad Axe... see, there is a sign over there to the left in my avatar.

I've been to Hell and back. Also ate a cheeseburger in Paradise(that's Mi.too) on my Hell to Paradise ride. We made a quick stop at The Gay Bar, in Gay, Mi- not that there's anything wrong with that. A few miles to the south of me is Phoenix. If I head to the north and east, I hit Mexico and Texas( in central NY). I still prefer some of the towns in Pennsylvania though. I don't know of anyone that doesn't enjoy Intercourse.

A ride we do in MO takes us through Licking then a few miles later Success. The juvenile in me points this out each time we are on the ride.

Then there are several places called New Hope but only one is officially a town. The others are just communities.

There is place in Nova Scotia called "Black Hole". We decided when the road crews checked out distances that they went too close to the event horizon and never returned; because the road sign that points the direction to Black Hole has no distance shown, whereas the same sign post shares a sign giving direction to near by Halls Harbour and the distance is given. These places are handy Cape Split in the Bay of Fundy.

The town name is only slightly unusual, but the team name cracks me up. I did look up who Nimrod was, but that's not what it means in my neck of the woods.

On our ride today we went through Styx but we didn't cross over the river :-) Not much to take a picture of there except the name sign. Picture was right back into the sun so it did not come out to good. You can barely read the sign.

Cool thread. Here in WNC we have Luck and Trust right next to each other. Also Blackjack and Fair Play close by in South Carolina. Went through Gaysport Ohio a couple years ago but didn't stop. Wasn't going to take any chances. It's right next to Blue Rock. Already been through Hell and Paradise as well as had a beer at the Gay Bar and camped one night at Big Bone Lick. Had my long time girlfriend with for that one.

Fun thread. Saturday I rode thru the community of Lucky. I actually lived there 2 years in the 90's. I did NOT feel lucky to live there though. In fact, I thought it was the arm pit of the county. Good place to ride thru ..... Also rode thru Temperance Hall on the way back home ... reckon were that name came from??? Beautiful country side and farm land. No bars We have more fun and interesting ones around ... I just haven't had time to get back to them thus far .... Sirkitrider

On the way to the Nashville rally I went through Fly TN, which is already funny. I laughed out loud when I went past the local cemetery and noticed the sign: FLY CEMETERY.
