I saw a purple Forza the other day? That's about as colorful as it gets around here!

It's been most of a month since Jan? posted the last tag. So...... Here's what passes for "fall colors" around here; one pomegranate tree and a bougainvillea.

The scoot is all wrapped up against fall weather awaiting those 2 weeks in December when Zeus blocked Hera's curse (she turned one of Zeus' human "girl friends" into a bird) and the weather gets really fine allowing the birds to hatch their chicks. It's a whole mythology thing.

I'm leaving the tag open for whenever we start up again and someone comes across something more interesting than a half-nude pomegranate tree.

I've been racking my brain on this tag. Fall is long gone here but I can dig up an older pic if that's acceptable?  I sure would like to see this thread moving along.

Go for it bud, post whatever you please, it's in the rules .......

Taken from the 1st post in the thread ..............

* If 7 days pass with a Tag not being "tagged", the game opens up for a new post with a new tag.  This will keep it "rolling along!"

The leaves are just starting to turn in this picture.

New tag is the same picture, a firehouse.

Good idea ! .. Historical (as taken in the past) will keep the thread moving during the non-riding (the skiing months).  Now just have to find where I left my picture of Station 8.

I can't see captions either ... well not all of them (if there are any more than I do see)

If an elephant is next or was next ..... I couldn't resist this.  Too cold and snowy for a bike ride and thanks to google earth I'll share this ... though I know it doesn't count.  Just a place to ride to in the summer.  On hwy102 near Stewiacke which is 1/2 way between the equator and north pole.

Just a thought for the next tag, which doesn't count since my "capture" from google earth doesn't count.... how about a native "person" as in another road side statue a few miles farther along NS hwy 102 nearing Truro ... a Goosclap statue is my road side statue.  Another summer ride destination !!

OPPPs... Sorry Joan ... it seems I have stepped on your "air pump".

I saw the elephant post by  sirkitrider and looked no farther....  My entries didin't count since my Silverwing was not in the picture but rather hiding in the shed.  Way too cold and too far away to be on icy roads.  However today is +8C and everything is melting (not a good thing with the number of days to ski decreasing anyway.

Glad you got a chance to have a ski day Joan ...... always a fun experience especially when conditions are ideal.  And gravity does all the work !!
The absolute best day last year was on the hill's closing day.  We had had a week of snow storms and the temperature was perfect.  Hope this year follows that.

How about the tag being a statue of a person famous due to historical circumstances?

Well, I couldn't find a "truck" but I did find an old steam roller (emphasis on STEAM) just sitting outside an empty building??? Behind it was, what I think, is an old thrashing machine but I'm not taking any bets.

I want to deviate a bit from what we usually do and make the next find "The Oldest Building in the Area" and, maybe do a bit of a spread on it with a few words about what it is and when it happened.

These next photos are of the Monastery of St. John the Theologian. It's not real clear when this monastery was started but some icons in the church suggest the 16th century. The tower (3rd photo) is suspected to be as much as 400 years older!
All this is just a short ride up the "hill" from our house and within spitting distance now of the last houses in the area. In fact, the local cemetery is even further up the mountain. As early as the 50's this whole area was miles outside Athens.

These next shots were taken looking away from the side of the monastery and over Athens itself. They're hard to see in this shot but both Mount Lycabettus (highest peak in the valley) and the Acropolis are visible. It's quite a view these nuns have to enjoy.

This is just a "glamour" shot for my new AK550

Nice steamer! We have a nearby tractor show where they race them every year. The slowest most entertaining race you have ever seen at the Lanesville Heritage Festival.

That's my brother's bailiwick, he did some professional pulling 'back in the day' with a funny car called "The Driller".
