Well I made I up from Toronto to Sault Ste Marie Sunday with the first let up to Sudbury entirely in moderate to heavy rain. Not fun at all....

However once I made my turn west at Sudbury conditions improved nicely.

The World's Biggest Nickel is located in Sudbury, and as you can see, this far north the fall colours are just staring to make an appearance in some places. Really pretty scenery.

Thanks for the video Maggie and the pictures (and weather reports) Cathy and Steve.  Great to see what we distant people are missing. Please keep them coming.  Hope the weather co-operates for the rest of the rally, and all have a safe and great time.

Nice pics Steve.  Maggie, nice video.  We have a GoPro but have not figured out the best way to use it.  Bob needs to pick your brain for info.

I did not ride yesterday.  Will not today.  Just been visiting my friend and driving places.  Bob should get here later this afternoon.  See you all tomorrow. Be safe and hopefully dry.

We had the best day ever. First of all I owes huge apology to Iowa roads for doubting you. From the minute we hit the road to leaving Iowa the roads were fantastic. Elevated and twisty.   Especially the Iowa River Road

Bucket list items checked off the list. Pete got to Iowa Machine She'd, I got to World's Largest largest truck stop and we got to ride a sturgeon.

Pikes Peak was awesome! Confluence of the Mississippi & Wisconsin rivers

Just a perfect day of riding

Steve, love the Pooh pic.

Bob made it to Butternut with just a bit of rain.

Here are some pics from Lake Superior,  and the day.

Great fun indeed !!  Great pictures too.  Thanks for sharing the pictures.  We can certainly see why Pete wanted to stop for cinnamon rolls.  Those really rival the ones at Sunday River !  I wonder if they Fed-Ex to Canada?    ( Cathy's shot of the Lake Superior marina holds interest for me due to the Marine Travelift.  I  built a 20 ton lift for a local boat yard, years ago.)

And this is all in just getting there. Please keep the pictures coming.

Poo looks to want to join you on the trip Steve.

I made the decision to move the Wednesday ride to the open day, Friday.  Some folks did ride about yesterday as the rain was on and off.  Most of us stayed off the bikes and had a Wednesday funday ;)

Those are all great pics.  I really like Steve's series of Lake Superior.  I don't know what Maggie's pics are because they wouldn't load up all the way--just a wide bar at the top.

For those following along at home, here's today's ride to Lake in the Clouds. A bit wet in the morning but it dried out later and was a GREAT ride!

What a fantastic day!

Started out looking like it was going to be an all day rain but we came to ride. So weather be damned we rode.  We it some drizzles here and there but overall a dry day.  I think Mark and Dawn got caught in a bad storm catching up to us at one spot.

The roads today were pretty non technical but very pretty scenery in both Wi & Mi.  Just before our return we hit some fun alphabet roads back to the resort.

Lake of the Clouds was just gorgeous.  The cloudy moody setting actually made it a prettier view.  Lake Superior was quite pretty.

I took a lot of video, I will process that when we get home.

I rode on the back of Pete's Spyder which was actually fun.  I got to take a lot of shots and see a lot of scenery.

After Lake of the Clouds, we headed to Syls Cafe for Pasties.  So worth the 120 miles one way to get there!

Fun road signs today

Bruce got this one

Well finally a day without a single drop of rain.... and awesome roads to ride. The highlight of the day had to be Bond Falls State Park. Very pretty. And because of the sunshine, a large turnout of 25 bikes for the ride, pictured at the lunch stop.

Yesterday was no rain as Steve said.  Just a perfect day and we found the nicest road in the Northwoods, Hwy K

https://quik.gopro.com/v/R1X2qSjdpa/

We had a perfect supper at the Red Steer. The service was incredible and food was equally good.

Funny story I've been looking forward to eating at the Paul Bunyan Shanty for over a year now and having  fish fry Friday night. I was looking at their menu before meeting up at 7 o'clock and I noticed on their website it said they closed at 7:30.  So I called and said I think there's a mistake on your website it says you close at 7:30 and she said yes there is a mistake we close at 7:00.

Actually worked for the best and as mentioned the Red Steer worked out well.

After supper we came back and had a magnificent bonfire on the lake with great friends.
