Just a Swangin

« on: February 02, 2017, 04:13:21 PM »

Well, first off let me say ... what a wonderful and surprising January we have had here in eastern middle Tennessee!  I've ridden 11 days, 1171 miles ...  in January.  Wow.  Weather people took to calling it juneuary.  Rode 180 on Tuesday.  68 degrees!  Well, getting ready to freeze in snow and ice in March?

Anyhow, what I/we found on our ride Tuesday.

So, we're riding around on some backroads.  Actually, this was a pig path that crosses over to another road leading down to a ferry near Kentucky/Tennessee line.  So we are slowly rolling along ... round a curve ... and there in the bend of the road was this very surprised lady ... answering the call of nature.   She jumped up, furiously pulling up her drawers.  All I really saw was the sheepish grin she had on her embarrassed face.  At least she had a sense of humor about it.  I did not acknowledge her in any way, just kept on moving, but me and my buddy had a good laugh over our bluetooths:-)

Loud pipes save face?  If we'd been on Harley's I guess she'd heard us coming.  But since we were going along stealthy on our Burgman's  she had no idea we were anywhere around.

Our January has been great for winter riding also, except for the end. I've done more miles than I have in any other January. That's a funny story. While loud pipes are embarrassing, I guess they can save embarrassment.

Walk fast...look worried.

Middle Middle Tennessee has been great weather too. They're predicting a day in the 70s next week I am going to ride to work. I've been riding the MP3 because it protects the hands from wind better than the Silver Wing, but I think I'll take the Swing this week.

Q: How many scooters does one guy need? A: Just one more.
