Great shot. Just the right shutter speed!

Back in '04 I (finally) noticed one of these critters sucking on the weeds in our yard. I took a picture of it and sent it to a bugologist to asked what this critter was called. In the description I noted that it "hovered like a hummingbird."

Go figure!

We have those in Phoenix too. They are a large moth that enjoys the buds of Lavender plants. Ours are more desert colored. Yours is a beautiful specimen.

So today I pulled this bugger out of my pool. It's a giant water bug that has a nasty bite if you piss it off.
