I wish I would've stopped on the weekend I was in a 50 mile bicycle tour and passed a neat mailbox. The box itself was normal but it had a backdrop made of about 10 old full size skis all different colors.  Another I saw on a casual bike ride was a tractor mailbox with a load of little miniature hay bales it was so neat

At Tellico Plains ... from last Saturday.

Taken at a real neat museum/MC apparel store.  The museum is an old telephone company museum ... neat stuff from yesteryear ....

Kewl topiary.

BTW, did they have one of those old timey phones that had a string going from the listen/talk part to the box with the numbers on it then on to the wall? I've heard of those & I think my grandma had one!

Expat47, they did have one of those old timey phones like you describe.   As well as a rotary dial!  Next time they'll prolly have a Motorola flip phone too:-)

Way, way back in the day, before rotary phones my grandparents got a phone. When Grandpa passed on, Mom took the number, and when Mom moved to Florida my brother took the number. Another few years and our family will have had that number for close on to a century.

I've heard tell that my brother's daughter has had her eyes on it for some time now and has to be watched closely.
