Glad you posted up some pictures!  Love the scoot on the road shot.  Is that a gravel road or just heavily graded?

It's paved with some nice sweepers about 8 miles in the park

liked the video of the cow lick, reminded me of the old days
the road appears to what we call "tar and chip" in fact the side road to my place is the same, lots of gravel with tar applied, that accounts for the parallel lines, and then some more gravel on top
an inexpensive way to pave a road

Interesting old tower.  Was that moat around the outside designed to be flooded with water or is it always a dry moat?

It was dry, there are gun ports on the tower for firing into the moat.  There are about five of these towers sited around Kingston harbour.
They were built in response to the War of 1812 cause the New York frontier is just across the river.

Thanks, many folks think moats always have water in them but some were designed to be dry and some were designed so that they would be flooded or left dry as the situation dictated.

My father-in-law is a sweet man, very thoughtful of others but he is very anxious about following plans and time schedules.  I have this prelude so you can appreciate the photos I'm about to share.  While visiting Toronto he took Serena, myself and my mother-in-law to lunch and afterwards to Niagara Falls.  As it turns out we ran a little late at lunch and he was concerned about missing our reservations for dinner (we actually did miss it, by an hour) so we did a drive-by of Niagara Falls.  No time to stop, just roll down the window and snap whatever photos you can.  Even from the car the Falls are amazing, spectacular a true wonder and really special to view from the Canadian side.

Don't blink, we're rollin' now.

The spray is invigorating.  Needed to use the wiper blades.

More spray.

Postcard perfect.

A garden clock.  We didn't stop the car for this one either.  I was okay with that.

We finally stopped at a pull-out and I was given the opportunity to check out the view of the Niagara River.

So there it is, my drive-by of the beautiful Niagara Falls.  I definitely plan to come back again.  It could make an excellent motorcycle road trip adventure.

By the way, what is with the traffic in the Toronto area?  I think it is worse than LA.

Dan, those are some nice postcard photos you took!  We will be driving cross country in my TR6 for a national show there in a few weeks. I certainly hope the traffic is calmer by then! Your photo's are inspiring as we've never been there. This will be a prelude for my wife.
Thanks for the post!

Thanks CS, the Falls are beautiful you both will have a wonderful time.  The traffic around the Niagara Falls area isn't too bad, it's when you get closer to Toronto that chronic gridlock begins.  Like I said, I plan to go back myself and would encourage anyone in the vicinity to make the trip.  I'm kicking myself for not having gone earlier.  Just make sure to take your time and enjoy the experience... no drive-bys!  :D

I got to visit the Falls for the first time in late 1970....
arrived in Buffalo late on Sunday afternoon driving a moving van...
asked around as to the best way to get to the Falls, so after dropping
my trailer, I headed out on the recommended route.
Arrived at the Falls about 10 P.M.
I had been at the Falls about an hour, & was getting ready to leave,
when I was approached by an RCMP patrol car & 2 ( very polite )officers,
inquiring as to how I got a semi-truck tractor into the parking lot there,
as that type of vehicle was not permitted there.
I advised them that I had crossed the bridge at Buffalo, to Fort Erie & driven up
along the riverside parkway directly to the Falls parking lot...at which point,
they both turned pale.
They advised me that, not only was my truck not permitted in the Falls parking lot,
my type of semi-truck commercial vehicle was not EVER permitted on the riverside
parkway between Fort Erie & Niagara Falls.
They then provided information as to the 'best route' for me to get me & my truck
out of Canada, without creating additional issues.
I followed their recommendations EXACTLY. Thanks again, officers.

the Niagara Parkway from Niagara Falls to Niagara On The Lake is fantastic
take a winery tour while you are there, pick up a bottle of gewürztraminer, some cold cuts, bread and fruit and have a picnic
makes for a great day

A couple of weeks ago 'Her Majesty' dragged me off horseback riding at a place called 'Big Rock Dude Ranch'. This dude seemed to run the general store but uninterested in making sales.

I posted this one to FB so some have seen it.

Dan, he just sat there doing rubber neck poses but I didn't know if that might mean welcome or don't come any closer in peacock and since he had the high ground I thought discretion the best course, not venturing any closer. It was late afternoon on a week day and no one else was around but since the area is open to the public I would assume he isn't very aggressive.
