Winter up here is not my favorite time of the year to go out and take pictures, but over the holidays, my grandson and I went up to Eklutna Lake, about 20 miles from here.  Fortunately it wasnít very cold, but Iíve frost bitten my fingers and hands too many times over the years to get excited about doing this in the cold.  Anyway, it was very blue up there, with the ice, snow and dark water and blue sky.  Hereís a couple  I took.
And yes, the trees were leaning over like that.  Notice the waning daylight there, and these were taken around 2:30 in the afternoon!!

Not bad for a pic from my iPhone 8 Plus.  I know a cell phone camera isnít like a ďrealĒ camera, but it does a fair job.  Really caught the late afternoon light on the peaks nicely.

A bit of artistic liberty with this one. The moon was there, but just wasn't big enough, so.......

When the weather improves and the temps moderate so my fingers donít freeze, Iíll get out and take some more pix.  Iíd include a motorcycle if I were still riding one.  Sigh.  Sometimes I miss riding.

I've been lookin at that photo this whole week end. My 1st thought when I saw it Saturday was that it was just a bit too looney.

But I've come around to thinking you've done a pretty good job of it!

Artistic liberty indeed. Did anyone notice the moon is rotated 90 degrees clockwise?

Clampett - I was in your neck of the woods last weekend.  Sure is pretty down there.  I was in a cage, but sure would like to do some riding in that area.

Hmmmm, now ya tells me afters ya gets back home. Coulda got ya a glass o water and toothpick at the local diner.

Well, it is called "Alabama the Beautiful". Next time give me a few days warning. Between caring for mom and others in need (retired folks are never busy ya know) I always enjoy fence talk with fellow riders. BTW, I actually prefer the local sushi bar but am open to any culinary tongue tingling delight which is evident by my well rounded shape(Mr Potato Head sound familiar?).

Greg, I've found that my knowledge feels inversely proportional to my age.
In that vain, I've developed a habit of taking photos and reading those historic markers I previously ignored in an attempt to increase that knowledge.
What better way than on a scooter????

Regarding my own lack of knowledge:
SWMBO insists that a simple plugging of my ears with my index fingers prevents memory leaks.
I need written instructions as my current application of the technique is failing.

Wow!  Plugging my ears doesn’t seem to. Work well for me.  I plug my ears and my brain laughs.

And old store called Brackett Grocery was a place back in the 1950's where kids would ride their bicycles to and hang out on the store porch, buy sodas, and candy. Everyone knew each other. The store owners lived in the house pictured to the left. A lot of growth had almost covered the buildings and now someone has began clearing. Brought back lots of memories from my previous life 200 years ago (yes, my childhood).
There was an old bus that came by about twice a day ran/owned by an individual. Only one stop sign on the whole length of road created a welcome test of driving skills for young bucks. The community was called Republic. Had 2 stores, a school, and a post office.
Today there is one store, not affiliated with either of the originals. No post office. No school. Well, that's all as far as facts. Of course Ying always has something to say. She asked if this is where the Adams family lived. At least it wasn't "Are we there yet?"

A church in the next community that was always a landmark as a Catholic church. The congregation dwindled until there were none left.
Another church had grown and purchased the building after it had remained vacant for a few years.
Their landscaping efforts are very noticeable and pleasant when passing.
