I forgot to mention many thanks to Bill for the wood carving!  I love it and it is already hanging!

I would like to say thank you one and all for a great Maxi Rally! I had a wonderful time to and from the event. A big thank you to Maggie, Dan, Stu, Phil, Steve, and others that I'm sure I have forgotten. This was a lot of fun. I look forward to next year.

Vicki, those are some mighty fine photos you had taken from the back seat.

Agreed!  Great to have a photographer on board.

Great Pictures everyone. Vicki they are all great but I'm quite drawn to the one showing a portion of the colonel's helmet and a portion of both in the mirror, cool. One of the things I've learned from this trip is how old I appear, guess a bit of imagination in a mirror can't be applied to a photo.

When I came through the covered bridge and saw that little green Kia I thought 'Oh crap, Her Majesty found me' but as my pupils adjusted I saw the little bra on front.

Thanks to everyone at the rally for letting me be with y'all in spirit on this FANTASTIC rally! I am envious not of the beautiful landscapes and places to visit (Ok, well maybe a little! LOL!), but of the relationships made no longer just posts online, but actual person to person contact! Thanks for all the photos and videos! PA is a little far for a newbie scooterist to go for a ride, but maybe those of us who hang around in TX can do something similar! We have some great places to see and great roads to ride too!! Like I said, thanks for letting me come along vicariously and put some great faces to some great names! LOVE IT!!        :D

Not me...  I could barely get him to take my money let alone take a picture of him!  LOL!

We are kicking around 2013 being in Hot Springs or Cumberland Falls area...  Hot Springs would certainly get all our friends over form Texas in.

Sorry if I'm being dense about the states, but...
Hot Springs, Arkansas or Cumberland Falls, Kentucky?

I'm more leaning to Cumberland Falls for a few reasons.

I am hoping June 2013 that our HAMS meetup will be in Mena, Arkansas or Hot Springs so I can catch up with Robin.

Another consideration would be the Dragon area... but there is NO WAY in hell I would lead a group ride through the Dragon.  There are so many other roads we could hit and if people wanted to do the Dragon before or after they could.

As much as I would love to attend a rally in Hot Springs it's 1500 miles from home.  That's just too far.  The Cumberland Falls area is about 1000 miles away, that would be a possibility.  In either case don't plan on my availability, either would be a multiple day ride in and would be tough to manage.

I like Maggie's idea of moving this rally around so folks from other parts of the country can enjoy attending at some point.

If you do decide to go to the Dragon, the folks at the Nighthawk forum love staying at Kickstand Lodge.  They've gone back three years in a row.

There is a good campground on  28 near Stecoah, NC -- maybe the one Dan named. Fontana Village Resort has a pleasant campground, albeit limited showers ala Steeds Steeds.  Fontana Village Resort hosts many club rallies. I have gone down there each of the last three years for MINIs On The Dragon. The area is delightful.

Nice video, that's the most detail of smoke, steam from the area I've seen so far.

Did I see you Rog? I asked about you the first couple of days. Then sitting in the car dealership all day Monday whacked a bit of my memory.

Finally got some of my video put together. Here are about 10 minutes of clips from rides on Thursday and Friday (pay no attention to the Wednesday reference therein - correction and rendering takes no time, but the YouTube upload took forever).  There's a nice run starting at about 2:26, and the climb to Hyner View Overlook starts at about 7:10.  Please note that this video was shot with a 3X telephoto lens so I'm not as close to Maggie as it appears (especially of note when her scoot fills the frame).

Very nice, Steve!

I wish we could ride the switch backs again on 477.  I never got into a good groove with the damp road, pot holes or shadows!  It was so nice through there.

I was prepared to take out the chipmunk ;)
