Apparently only Mark, Huntz and I got the memo on the finger

Dinner time -- if you went away hungry, it was your fault

Yes! A million thanks to Tia, Diane, Bill, Vicki, Gladys and Stu for the cook out!

I will write more later when I do my Saturday report.

Double click any thumbnail for the Previous-Next mode, or use the Slideshow option (icon in upper right - click on "show info" once it starts to see captions).

As promised, I have included links to many, many pictures on my SkyDrive account. Some of the pictures are better than others, but I have removed the complete duds from the collection. At Rupert Bridge in the Saturday's pictures collection, I was able to get at least one fairly good picture of each rider who participated. For a couple of riders, there are two good pictures. You'll also see a couple where a rider's second picture was chopped.

For Friday's pictures, including
1-Sheetz-Stop
https://flic.kr/s/aHskpsPSz9
2-Hyner-View
https://flic.kr/s/aHskkYfCg8
3-Kettle-Creek-Jersey Shore
https://flic.kr/s/aHskkXjHXs
4-End-Of-Day
https://flic.kr/s/aHskojZsu7

For Saturday's pictures, including
1-Centralia-Catawissa
https://flic.kr/s/aHskpxhfvv
2-Rupert-Bridge
https://flic.kr/s/aHskpqWnZW
3-Steel-Steeds
https://flic.kr/s/aHskpxRqiR

For Sunday's pictures, including
1-Sunrise
https://flic.kr/s/aHskopeJT7
2-Departure
https://www.flickr.com/gp/137859164@N06/8087Se

Enjoy them and please download any or all of them as you wish. Goodness, I miss you already!

edit: photos have new host site

Probably depends on the speed of your connection, but after double clicking a thumbnail my screen went black ... but it's not dead, apparently just loading.  Gave it a few seconds and the full screen pic showed up - then could start the slideshow.

Thanks for the photos !   Since I didn't take many photos myself, I appreciate those of you who are "photographers" and were able to do so during the rides.  Again, the Saturday ride to Centralia and the covered bridges turned out to be another highlight.

Day Two

The RIDE!

Weather Perfect, check!  Great Roads, check! Riding Buddies, priceless!

I planned this ride for a year of my life.... I checked the route every day.  I called rangers over and over regarding conditions.  Some forgot to mention a chip gravel project, LOL!

When I ride in our club I always have the same "wing man".  I asked Steve to be my wing man in Pennsylvania because he outside of Pete knows my riding habits best.  A wing man in purest form is someone that has your back.  In my case my "wing men" are someone that watches after you and lets me do what I need to do.  For this, many thanks, Steve!

Sweepers, thanks as always, Pete... you are the man!  Paul thanks a million for helping Pete that gave us a peace of mind!

Going across 192, FOG? Seriously FOG?? This is NOT going to fit into my surprise plans....

Photo 8 - 2012-09-11 by stlscooterclub, on Flickr

When I planned out the ride across 192, I was not aware at how nice a ride it would actually be!!  Could you believe those switchbacks just before Lock Haven??  Amazing!!

After we regrouped in Lock Haven we were incredibly organized again and on the road west along the Bucktail Trail Scenic ByWay!

Photo 7 - 2012-09-11 by stlscooterclub, on Flickr

Ahh sun is lifting the fog!  Onward to Hyner View.  It was all I had to keep this a secret!  I wanted all to be awed as we crested up!

Beautiful sight!

I trust these two dudes with my life...

Once down Hyner we headed over to Kettle Creek.  Fun twisty roads even with chip gravel!

Photo 1 - 2012-09-11 by stlscooterclub, on Flickr

I have looked at 100's of pictures of Kettle Creek over the last year.  Not a one compared to the beauty I saw!

After a fun picnic lunch we rode long and hard back home.  I am not sure I took many pictures after Kettle Creek as I wanted to enjoy the ride and that I did!

You're welcome. I was pleased with how Saturday's ride turned out. We had such low expectations of the weather on Saturday and the rain held off until over an hour after our return to Steel Steeds.

Len's (sonuvabug) motivational speech in Centralia about braving the threat of bad weather and not returning directly to Steel Steeds is an indelible memory. Wish I had the video recorder running then!

The Town that Once Was Ride

I said to Steve, I want to see a town that isn't there and covered bridges.  Did he pull through or what??  Many thanks to Steve his family for all that was done to grant my request!

The ride was perfect!

In the video you can hear me say... Oh Great!  I wasnt ready for the wheel ramps on the bridge.  I was more worried that I was responsible for Mimi's safety not just mine!  LOL!

Centralia Ride

The dots cracked me up!

You're most welcome ... it was my priviledge.  Hopefully, I held up against Scot's standards.

And a huge thanks from us to you and everyone else involved ... I know the effort required to pull something like this off, especially at a distance ... it was awesome.

Maggie's comment about riding together as if we'd been doing it all along really struck a chord with me.  I'm always impressed at how we "strangers" can assemble, load up, and hit the road with minimal direction ... falling into a perfect staggered formation, realigning when necessary, bunching side by side at the lights, switching to single / double file as required, and just generally operating as a unit.  Besides the camaraderie, it's one of the neatest things about group riding.

I should add that it doesn't always happen, but it does always seem to happen when the group consists of maxiscootists (present or former).

You're welcome. And many thanks to you as well. You could have kept riding until midnight and Mimi would probably have stayed with you, always ready for the next adventure. Mimi, Ratchet and I enjoyed every minute of the rally. They really liked riding with various members, including you, and I appreciate everyone's willingness to include them in the rides.

Sometimes taking pictures is the most fun. I'll always remember sprinting through Rupert Bridge, laughing to myself as I thought what the heck am I doing, after parking the CBR and then signaling everyone else to start crossing for the photo opportunity. Perhaps no one else saw that, but I'm guessing you did, being first in line to cross. I am very pleased the pictures are appreciated. Makes it all worth the effort.

I recorded from Hyner View to Kettle Creek State Park about an hour. I broke it into six section but I've only uploaded the first section 'Down Hyner View Another Perspective' or 'The Dave and Dan Show'. Sorry about the sound, mostly of my pants legs flapping and wind. My edit program is on the other laptop, I'll transfer and clean up prior to loading the rest but did want to get the first section up so Dan can see his new motorbike in action.

Ok, all you get is 29 hand held jigglly seconds of NY RT97, but you will get the idea.
Besides, Dan was pulling away and that just wasn't going to happen

That's cool Paul, I didn't know you were taking videos.  I would have gone back up so you could take a run without holding onto the camera.  I was having fun giving the gas to the Ninja, I had just finished engine break-in so it was still very new to me.  Though Paul showed me a time or two that the SilverWing has plenty of pep in both roll-ons and take-offs.

Vicki, those are some mighty fine photos you had taken from the back seat.
