I hope everyone had a good time on the Saturday ride. I had to high tail home to Chicago starting early Saturday through a lot of rain. I was stuck in Jersey Shore late Friday with a main electrical harness issue that finally resolved about nine at night and made me take a discretion over valor to head back and not chance more riding then necessary.  Brian followed me to make sure I'd be OK.

It was a great time meeting so many good people and a great ride on Friday.  Thanks everyone, and Brian said thanks too.

Stu broke Maggie's only photo rule, Twice! Great pictures especially the view you weren't suppose to post and great shot of the river.

These caption themselves.

Thank you both for all you did and do!

No names until after the damages bill comes from Steel Steeds and Hershey. You know who you are.

On the Friday ride I, and many others, saw a bear carving that was very well done but there wasn't an opportunity to stop.
On my return ride I tracked the bear down and bagged him.

have to post a picture of the bike at another nice spot further up the road

will post some more when I get home

had a great time on some wonderful roads but the folks I met are the hi-lite of the trip
thanks for some great memories and I can't wait till next year

Maggie and Mimi at Rupert Bridge on Saturday...

There are too many photos (several hundred) to post one by one. When I have the folders organized, I'll post the links and you should be able to download any or all of them in their original file sizes. This picture is cropped to 800x600 for the site.

Here is Paul and my photo journey.

An early morning start.

Taking our time on the way in on some backroad highways.

Found the Circle Museum.

Some interesting sculptures.

This eagle really stood out.

Up the winding road to Hawk's Nest.

It's a beautiful twisting road high above a river valley.

Heading west on Hawk's Nest.

A close-up of the road.  We had this area virtually all to ourselves, miles and miles of river riding.

A one lane bridge to nowhere... well to two small settlements with no outlets.

Dewey start to the Friday ride.

Everyone getting their collective stuff together.

Some of the bikes... I liked the stickers and meticulous pinstriping.

Mimi and Allison hanging out by the Ninja.  Mimi got to be the first person I've taken for a ride on the Ninja, she did great.

Our first stop at Hyner's View.

The spectacular view.

Looking in the other direction.  The road up was quite twisty and fun.

Dave and I at the View.

This time with Maggie.

Me and my roomies Bill and Vicki.

Gurock and I checking out the View.

I call this one, "Dan and the Darts".  That's Mimi, me, Steve and Allison.

Phil and I getting our photo taken somewhere arouncheer.

I call this one Speedy-Petey.

Our view at lunchtime.

The next day the weather was far more threatening.

Here is redeye holding back the storm clouds with a bit of help from Silverbullet.

Steve took us to Centralia where the mines have been burning for years.  You can see the smoke coming up out of this vent.  It gets very warm if you keep your hand there too long.

Of course Dave is king of the mountain and nobody can knock him down.

Meanwhile back at the camp Stu applied one of his sweet vinyl graphics to the front fender of Maggie's ride.

Me self photo-bombing the camp group shot.

Maggie down by the river.

Sunset on the Susquehanna #1

Sunset on the Susquehanna #2

Sunset on the Susquehanna #3

Dave's SV bathed in the setting sun.

Paul's SilverWing has the guiding lights to lead us back home on Sunday.

Discovered this cool hot-rod while fueling up somewhere in Pennsylvania.

Me fiddling around with the camera timer while waiting for Paul at some wayside on HWY 80 in Pennsylvania.

A big special thank-you to my riding buddy Paul (mascoot), who not only made the trip enjoyable and stress free, he is also a pleasure just to be around.  No drama not even when the skies opened up and we were caught in a major storm shower in the middle of nowhere.

One shot from Centralia, more when I get home, internet is extremely sketchy rouncheer and keeps dumping in the middle of uploads.

Saturday afternoon wrap up festivities.

Returned from the outhouse I found everyone huddled under a tree and started snapping away. Later Saturday evening I discovered there was indoor plumbing. Apologies to who ever was staying in that smaller cabin.

Day One

Day O Chocolate

I enjoyed the route to Hershey once we left Sunbury we cut across some Pennsylvania farm land and crossed the Appalachian Trail.

I was pleased at how well we stayed together considering our larger than expected group.

Did you all see the Statue of Liberty? Pete got a quick shot.

Well now I can say I have been to Hershey!  I wasn't overly impressed with Chocolate World but it was a stop on a fun ride.

I decided to go back the way we came as I wasn't overly thrilled with Route 11 or the number of congested interchanges we would have to cross in Harrisburg.

Few shots from the day

When we got back I wandered down by the river.  I saw a blue bike & blue chair with a bike tent.  I asked Len who it belonged to?  He said Huntz.  I said who is Huntz?  Turns out Huntz doesn't have an account here, he just sorta lurks and decided to come from Michigan.  How cool is that!!

I loved being down by the river!
