Let's Ride!!!!!!

« on: August 09, 2012, 06:44:18 PM »

Hi Maggie:
We have a number of reservations for the Maxi-Scoot rally. Looks like it will be a good time. I am just checking to see if there is anything you all need from us. Also, do you think people would enjoy a band at the little bar next door? She does not always schedule a band, but I wasn't sure what your folks usually do in the evenings. Of course, we have a big campfire and if folks want a beer there, that is fine by us. But if you think people would enjoy the music at Mindy's Tavern, I can ask for her to schedule a band. Just let us know what you would like and we will try to accommodate. Thanks, Diane

My personal vote is we hang out by the fire?? Anyone differ from this??

+1  Diane & I arn't bar folks. IMHO time would better spent with distant friends around the campfire. + If we want to listen to a band we may as well stay home.

Thanks anyway for thinking of us!!

Campfire and conversation for us too.  Nice of Diane to ask though.

While I'm not fond of bonfire smoke, I CANNOT tolerate smoke filled bars.

I'm a campfire guy, with marshmellows on a long stick!   Plus, I like quiet nights.

I was just about to ask if it was a beer tolerating campground but I may meander across the street, someone will have to lead Rog back.

I think it's cool if people to wander over to Mindy's as well, is it necessary for Diane to ask her to get a band?

I would say not for us. Hate for her to go to that expense and not get the pay back for it.

Though I do like a bit of music my shucking and jukin' days are, for the most part, a distant memory. Though I may break into a few seconds of a one good legged jig every once in a while I don't reckon it would be worth while for anyone to hire a band on my account.

2 votes for the campfire.  Normally bands crank up the volume and you can't hear the person next you.  If we need music we can always turn up an MP3 player -- you can still bring your Red Solo cups to the fire if you want.

Bring the banjo to Emmitsburg. We'll haul it the rest of the way with our stuff!  :D

Rouncheer hearing a banjo is a sign to turn around and head back toward home but I guess it would be different if you knew who was pickin.
