Hello - new member from Plano, TX.  I ride a Piaggio MP3 500.  I ride it daily to and from work (50 mile round trip).  Still very much having fun with it - received it as a birthday present from my wife last year.

Rode a Honda ELite 80 all through highschool and a Elite 250 thru college.

I joined here to get ride ideas and to somewaht get familiar with other maxis out there.

I frequent modernvespa.com and some on Battlescooters on ADV.

Thank you for allowing me to join y'all.

Hello trirol1.  I live in Terrell.  There are a number of us Maxi Scooter riders in the area.  Some of us do small group rides just about every weekend.  The rides are usually on Saturdays but sometimes on Sundays.  We meet up around 8 or 8:15 in the morning, ride a route on mainly FM roads to one of the small towns within a 150 or so mile radius of DFW .  Have lunch then ride back by another route also mainly on FM roads.  A days ride can end up being 300 to sometimes as much as 450+ miles.

All that goes to say we have ridden just about every FM road within a 1/2 days ride of DFW including up into the lower part of OK at least once and more likely dozens of times.  If you want any suggestions on good ones to ride E'mail or PM me.  If you would like to join us on one of our rides also let me know.  If you are worried about the distance of the rides, you can just ride part of it, folks often do.

Hey Buffalo --- thank you for the welcome and the info regarding the rides, if my schedule allows I will definitely try to join you guys ---

I haven't gone on any Maxi group rides, I have joined a couple of Vespa Dallas' Scooters and Coffee rides around downtown, but those rides are 50cc friendly.

The longest ride I have done is down to Lufkin to catch up with the Scooter Cannonball and chased them down to Moody.  500 miles with an overnite.
A fellow MP3 rider and I rode to Possum Kingdom Lake - earlier this year - i think that was 200 or so miles

I also play a lot on FM455 from Celina to Weston and I do the Bowtie close to me here in Lucas and Wylie --

I am thinking you know two guys I know --- G-bo he is a member of this forum who rides a blue Burg 400 and Rod who rides an Aprilia 500

thank you again...

455 is a favorite play road for a lot of the folks in the DFW area.  Another is just a little further north, 697 from Whitewrite to Sherman.  The turns on it are just as challenging as 455 and they come a whole lot more often.  I'm not familiar with the term Bowtie but if it goes through Lucas I'll assume it includes 1378 and maybe 546.  We prefer the twisties so we've got a list of our favorites and ride planning usually consist of figuring out how to include as many as possible in the day's ride.

I am thinking you know two guys I know --- G-bo he is a member of this forum who rides a blue Burg 400 and Rod who rides an Aprilia 500

G-bo I know, he's ridden with us a few times.  The name Rod on an Aprillia doesn't ring a bell but I might recognize the face if I saw it.  We've had another fellow on an MP3 ride with us a few time.  His name is Ty.

No, we were just looking around. We would need to find gainful employment for my wife before we do any house buying. So for now, we are enjoying Phoenix.
