Just saw this at SteelSteeds...

2012 brings a sad goodbye to our tent cabins. We enjoyed them for 3 years
but they have just not held up over time. Please check out our new cabins.

I'm sure the new cabins are nice.  I will miss the tent cabins.  The little porch in front of the tent cabin had an awning over it, was nice to have when I was there because of the rain.

How many tent cabins were there? I've had one booked for almost a year. Hope I still have a reservation.

Yup I do. I have a new cabin. Which is ok. Was looking forward to the tent cabin experience though.

We visited Steel Steeds yesterday to pay our deposit for September. Many pictures coming, including the replacements for the tent cabins, as soon as I transfer them from my camera.

Some pictures of the new cabins at Steel Steeds. These units replace the tent cabins.

A closer view of the previous picture.

The rest of the pictures show the cabin interiors. Some of the photos aren't in good focus. This was early evening, and we were moving quickly from cabin to cabin, spending only a few seconds in each one.

Steel Steeds was very hard hit by Tropical Storm Lee late last summer. When storms like Lee approach, the staff at Steel Steeds remove just about everything from the site, a complete evacuation. The flood levels from TS Lee were comparable to Hurricane Agnes in 1972. On another thread from Knoebel's, I will post a picture of the flood level gauges they use for comparison purposes. There are many scars from TS Lee still clearly visible in the region. We will see some of them on our ride.

Decided to post the flood level picture here instead of on "another thread." This is at Knoebel's, not Steel Steeds, but you can see how last year's storm compares to Agnes.

Those are nice, thanks for posting Steve!

The girls look cute with the flood level sign.  Hope we stay away from that this year!

I know Dave, it was kind of nice to have that cover.  Maybe we can recommend that to them for future campers.
