Hello All,

We are new members from north Alabama.  My wife and I ride 2-up on a 2012 Burgman 650.  We have been riding scooters for 7 years.  For the past 6 years (Leading it the last 4), we have been involved with the End of Summer Ride in the Mentone/Desoto State Park area of Alabama.  This year we are organizing the First of Fall Scooter Ride from Townsend, Tennessee.  Please see the annoucement in the appropriate section of this forum.

Ride Safe, Del & Holly

Wow, that is pretty country!

My wife had a convention at Lake Guntersville
State Park two years ago.  I trailered the
cruisers up and staged out of her cottage on
the lake.  First time she got to ride in modest
hills was a real blast.  Rode to DeSoto Falls
and did the Little River Canyon run.  So cool!

We want to return to North Alabama again
for more riding adventures.  Maybe we'll
catch up with y'all sometime.  Have you
ever been to Barber?  I've wanted to do
the Museum for like forever!  Next month
is the Superbike race there and if there
is any way I'm going.

Welcome to the forum and hope you can
post some pics of yourselves and your
Burgie.

Hi Del & Holly...love your choice for your First of Fall ride.  Townsend is one of my favorite places; my mom was born and raised there.

Thanks for the warm welcome!

Avachava:  Yes we have been to Barber, several times.  It is a MUST see for any person who rides on two or three wheels.  The museum is great.  We went once during the vintage bike race weekend and had a blast.  And there is a Bass Pro store at the same exit for those who like Bass Pro.  We have a gallery of pictures from the Barber on another scooter web site.  I will try to post some here later.  We will be out-of-town all next week,so it will have to be after we get back.

We rode through the Guntersville area three weeks ago on our way to and back from Mount Cheaha here in Alabama.  You might not know this, but on april 27th, 2011, Guntersville State Park area, and other parts of the county, were hit pretty hard by the tornadoes that struck a lot of Alabama that day.  The city did not get any real direct hit, but the surrounding areas sure did.

The End of Summer Ride that we led for the last 4 years started at Desoto State Park, right near Little River Canyon.  It is a very pretty area of the state.

What do guys think of SYM 250RV? found one with 500 miles and $2000.00  I know it's not fuel injected, but its cheap.  The SYM  250RV doesn't go much faster than my Riva 180, should I wait to buy a bigger scooter? I would like to do more interstate travel with my scooter.  Thanks!!
