Rollin', Rollin', Rollin'

I find this bike very interesting.  It's priced way to high but I suppose that is true with any new tech/machinery.

The six speed manual trans does make it unusual for an electric vehicle.

Maybe you can swap out the battery pack for the trip home.

Again initial cost vs. gas M/C and limited range.  AND it doesnt even have a charging system included as a read the article.

No, it doesn't charge itself like a Prius or other hybrid.  It DOES connect to recharging power with the same port the Nissan Leaf uses.

I don't believe the LA Harley dealer they are selling through allows any riders on the lot that don't rev their engines for at least 5 minutes after arrival (really the noise level at this particular dealer seems well above the other HD dealers I've been to).
Harleys and electrics, don't see a lot of cross over traffic there. They don't seem to even be listing the brand on their web site.
Guess if you buy one you will have to come in the back way.

These are baby steps for the electric bike industry.  Just think where they were only a few years ago.  I won't be an early adopter but am intrigued where this technology is heading.

Right On Brother! This paragraph is very carefully worded,

The company, based in Ashland, Ore., said the Empulse is capable of going at least 100 mph and as far as 121 miles per charge in city riding.

Which doesn't say how far it will go on average highway riding. If I can't take it on a 100 to 140 mile lunch ride. Forget it! (can't find the thumbs down icon)

This article states it will travel 56 miles at highway speeds.  You're going to need to find a closer lunch spot Lou.

Apparently they have secured orders for 2000 bikes so far.
