Hi,I'm a retired UofMN mechanic. I've been riding and wrenching on bikes for 50+yrs. Of the nearly 50 machines owned in that time 2 have been scooters including a CH150 presently. My herd at the moment includes besides the Elite an '81 GS1100E,'83GL650,'94XJR400R(Grey Market),'02 Aprilia Futura RST1000. I joined because a big scoot may be coming as I age and may no longer be able to ride the Futura. The T-Max looks mighty inviting. GJ-Champlin,Mn

The TMax was an interesting idea but too expensive and mediocre mileage. I sold the Grey Market Yamaha & Elite. I bought an '07 People S250-I took a long test ride in high winds and was sold by the stability and handling. As an old roadracer(RD400{POOR MAN'S TZ}Yamaha)in the 70s I had to have something that had good handling, brakes, and a bit of speed-the S250 fills the bill. I could almost see it as my sole ride.GJ

Welcome, fellow 'Scooter Freshman'! Ha ha, I just got back on this forum after a long hiatus. With your background and experience you will not only be a welcome member but a valuable source of advice. I'm guessing that if you spend some time perusing the posts you will see many who are just getting started who could use some friendly guidance. A lot of riders are content to let their dealer take care of maintenance. But many, like me, enjoy delving into the innards. From changing oil and filter to disassembling the front forks and installing progressive springs, adding supplemental farkles and other vital and optional operations, people are hungry for knowledge. Many are doing this stuff for the first time and it's fun to listen to their stories and questions. If you watch, you will see areas you can lend a hand and keep people on the right track. Thank you in advance for any help you can offer here. In no time at all you'll be considered a [fill in the blank for next level above Freshman]. This is without doubt one of the coolest boards on the internet. See you around!
