Author Topic: I think I stole a scooter...  (Read 584 times)

I have been looking over a several hundred mile radius fro a "new" scooter (and just to see what the market was). Pretty well narrowed it down to a Majesty. My plan was to sell my Reflex first then get the Yamaha. I had found an 07 in Knoxville. Low miles and  Givi top box for under $3000 (Craigslist). and there was an 05 Here in Charleston for about $3500. Then it happened. I was checking all the Craigslist Friday and found an 07 with less than 500 miles. My wife (love her!) says, "go see it." So I did. The owner was a very nice guy in his 40's. Retired. The bike had been dropped by his wife and has some scratches down the side. Not bad really. I am just anal about aesthetics. I was the first looker, and bought the bike for $2,750! He threw in 2 helmets; a FF HJC that fits my wife, and a Shoei modular Multitec, that will fit either of my sons. I think that is a pretty good deal.

Also, it gives me latitude to "play it forward" and reduce the price on my Reflex if I need to.

So Paul, is that a Majesty? If so you did steal it and being the conscientious guy I am must report you to authorities...or not. Congrats. That is a very fine bike and it is on Norm's top 5 list for Maxi-scoots.

i got a little confused reading your post, paul.

so, is it an 07 majesty you got?

if so, my story is kind of similar, but took place a year ago.

i had a sportcity 250 and wanted to move up to a maj. i checked every dealer within about a 75 mile radius - there were several - and not a single one had a new maj in stock. every one of them had at least one t-max in stock and tried to sell me on one of those, but i didn't want to go that direction.

so i started looking at craigs list and found no joy.

checked out cycle trader's on-line listings an found an 07 with 625 miles on it at one of the dealers that i had already called. drove out (75 miles) and got it on the spot. (the strongest selling point was it was in the faster Team Yamaha Blue color :D)

you'll like the maj. i've had a ball with mine.

I think the Majesty is the one bike I have never, ever, read a bad thing about. No failures of any kind. No disappointments in the ride. No premature wearing of parts. Reminds me of my 1978 Toyota Corolla. At about 200,000 miles I found myself wishing it would die so I could buy a new one. I eventually sold it to my mechanic, who last I heard, put another 100,000 miles on it.
