It was 60 degrees this morning at 5:30 AM when I went to work (in the car), ran home at noon and fired up the KLR and rode it back at a very pleasant 73 degrees. Not bad for January 5th. It could just as easily have been 12 below and snow-packed.

They don't call this place the 'Banana belt' of the midwest for nothing.

Hit almost 70 yesterday... it should today!  Right now it is 48 degrees.  It should be about 28 this time of year at this time of the morning.

They are saying we will probably hit 70 degrees here today also.  Nice weather for riding.  I did a little 140 mile run yesterday afternoon just to take a picture and get an ice cream cone  scooter

It was 47 Degrees here yesterday & all of that today! I took out the Helix a bit around town yesterday. Was a bit of a mistake. Roads were wet with wet salty melting snow in some spots.
I want to try to get in a ride a month in this year living in Wisconsin, That can be a bit of a challange.
As John P said it could very well be -12 here also.
I drive 220 miles a day for my job & this year has been a blessing. One less day driving in snow & cold & one day closer to spring.
Last winter was one from hell.....

Lou, it's good you get a break!  I am sure it is no fun in a route in ice and snow.

I too went for a ride with some of the guys. We did a "balony sandwitch" run. We all go and have lunch at a little store way out in the country, about 70 miles round trip.

Boy was I out of shape, I have been having problems with back and diabetes all fall.

It was cathartic to get out and ride.

OH, and the temp got yto 63 F.

I also noted that we had more disabled/handicapped license plates than regular ones. We ARE getting older. Ages ranged from 82 to 60.

I rode for 2 hours today! found a place where I regularly ride that has a small park that I didnt know about till today! I will take my camera next time, its a wierd dam set up in stages naturally that goes from huge tree logs, back to small sticks and finally to the small trash at the end ,,there were 1/2 a dozen basketballs a dozen other balls and a thousand 20oz coke bottles in there...along with trash and a tire still on the rim, but out in the middle of the river where you cant get to it...it will end up a mess in Jordan Lake...Rog

A lot of folks here in Montana say the old "If you don't like the weather wait an hour" thing but I'm beginning to think that the weather gods/goddesses are just messing around with my head.  I took the wife to catch the early flight out of Kalispell Thur and at 4:00 AM it was 47.  In Montana.  On Jan 5th.  In Kalispell at 4:30 AM it was 50.  So I said to hell with it, moved her truck out of the garage to get the Helix out.  As I was having lunch prior to taking a ride I look out and it is snowing and 36 degrees.  Back goes the Helix and the truck.

Fri and Sat again sunny and in the 40s so maybe I'll ride on Sunday?  Ha, look out this AM to 1-2" of snow.  I give up.  I'll wait until at least March before tempting fate again.  Bah!

Ain't the weatherman and mother nature fickle?  Same for here in southern Idaho.  We're not so far from each other, are we?  Today, according to one source, it's supposed to be 44 degrees and according to the other, 41 degrees.  Neither of which is what I call "warm," but it's rideable.  Only thing is, the sun has taken a powder and the clouds have moved in.  There's no snow in the forecast, but it sure looks like it could.  No riding for me today, either.

Southern Ontario is green again and above the freezing mark for a few days.  Still too much salt left on the roads for a 'clean' ride.

Only got 3 weeks to wait and we'll get a chance to ride in sunny Florida for a month.

Diversion, Going to take your Reflex or the Helix?

Its been in the 50's here the past couple days in fact I even got brave & have been keeping the Helix in the garage. Rode up to Merrill today to meet Charlie for lunch. 40 mile round trip.

The party's over for now. Helix in back in the shed as were suppose to get 5 to 8 inches of snow the next couple days.

I am taking the Reflex.  Got a rack mounted on the back of the motorhome and she's almost ready to roll.

Southern Ontario is enjoying 40+ today but the forecast calls for "a messy mix on its way".  That includes rain, freezing rain, snow pellets, snow flurries and anything else the weatherman can throw in.

It got up into the 60's here today but I didn't go riding.  Both bikes were due for service so I got that done before the cold front that is coming in tonight arrives.  Tomorrow's high is suppose to be about 40 and it will stay that way for a few days.

The snow is one thing... the 19 degrees with wind chill of -5 is another!

We are one of the few that love squirrels.  He was happy have had Pete go out with the feed this morning.

Yeah, no snow here but it was 31 degrees this morning with wind howling out of the Northwest.  Wind chills were in the high teens to about 20.

I don't have squirrels but the birds were happy when I put out seed for them this morning.  I put it behind the propane tank so they would be sheltered from the wind.

72 degrees here today.  This has been the 10 warmest January on record for the North Texas area.   It shows in my mileage this month.  I logged 1772 miles for the month.  That is more like what I normally do in the spring and fall months  Last January I only did about 1100 miles.

It's going to be in the mid fifties tomorrow so I'm going to rude the Concours to work in the morning, but when I leave the house at about 5:30 AM, it's predicted to be 25, so it'll be a brisk commute. It'll be a balaklava kind of ride.

On monday I rode the KLR to work, but it was in the low 40's at 5:30 AM and got up to about 60 for a high.
