SYM Maxsym 400i, touching your every moment!

Just saw this - now that's one beautiful machine. The same engine in a Citycom would be just the machine for us taller riders. I think SYM has designed another winner with this scoot.

I like the conservative design approach of the company. First get it right with your current models before going on to a new one. There will be a maxiscoot for the USA and I like the fact that a 400cc scoot's engine is 399cc. Nice big wheels too, 15 front & 14 back. When the beloved Citycom R.I.P. me thinks this will be the model to look to.

I keep looking for the "LIKE" Button!.  I agree that the video was a bit cheesy.

I do hope SYM gets their act together over here.  400cc seems to be the sweet spot, thus the relative success of the 400 Burg & the Majesty and my total bafflement at Honda for not having anything in that range.

The above two will be the natural competitors.  Will have to see how the SYM competes on price.  The jump in wheel size over the Burgman is good, though.

I didn't realize that the fire at the Carter Bros warehouse here in Alabama had been ruled as arson.  Don't know if Carter Bros. will carry on or if somebody else with take over SYM in the east.

Thought it was cheesy too!  :D

Very nice looking bike but thought the mirrors looked like an afterthought to me.  Not too keen on on silver/grey/blah paint job but I guess that's what sells.

now that i have seen this i am wondering if the Genuine -Sym partnership i am hearing about for us//// uses the 300 sym engine (if citi-com is to be discontinued......i understand that for the interim sym- canada distributor will be handling the north east usa territory.....i don't know if this is a good thing or a bad thing,,,,

i think they make great "forward looking scooters "....and have a unique styling....coupled with reliable performance...i love the larger wheels....and is it me or are the new models of scooters looking more and more like sport mc/s?

Alliance Powersports are the new distributor. Look at Mike@Lance Powersports reply here, he's the owner of Alliance.

Land Surveyor - they are going to bring the Citycoms to the US again - I had that from Mike himself. Me thinks SYM will go far in the world and the US.

that's MHO here from our little island "on the backdoor of the world" - New Zealand - can someone close the door  cold the Antarctic is blowing in at the moment.

Thanks for the info.

It's been so long since I've experienced cold, I've forgotten what it's like.  I forgot the upside down part of the world had reversed weather, too!
If it makes you feel any better, it's been about 93F/34C here today, although with a bit less of our typical mugginess here in the South.

SYM will also need to establish a good dealer presence as well.  That's what's kept me with Japanese machinery all these years while I've yearned for Moto Guzzi.

I went from Japanese to a Moto Guzzi Breva 1100 for 2 years and went back to Japanese for peace of mind.
