First time at 2012 Maxi-Scoot Rally

First time I've ever attended a motorbike gathering. (Other than day events shows, swap meets, etc)
First time at motorbike campground (see above)
First time trailering a motorbike (may be some cross country rides left but measured in weeks, months, my 600 mile days are past)
First time riding with another scooter
First time riding with more than two other motorbikes since 1988 (Sorry if I got in your way.)
First time I tried to start scooter with side stand down (Well in quite a while that is, good to have help during momentary lapses)
First time meeting a bunch of nice folks.
First and only Kwang Yang Motor Co. scooter to attend the First Annual Maxi-Scoot Rally (a Maxi-Scoot historical note until the end of time.)

Edited to add - Only motorbike not from Japanese major four to attend the First Annual Maxi-Scoot Rally. Just in case a Piaggio Group or HD shows up next year. They can claim country of origin but I have first other than Japanese and Taiwan wrapped. I'm claiming first Chinese also as PRC claims Taiwan is part of, the first, other than Taiwan, Chinese scoot to show up will have to wear an asterisk.

Many of you, having met Sandy, heard about "the mug".  I'm guessing she doesn't visit here often so I might get away with posting a picture thereof.  I'd hate for you to go through life never knowing that of which we spoke ...

Well, at least I'll die laughing.  It's a classic.  Actually, Ed's the one who should be offended ... being so obviously spurned.  Sandy was actually quite restrained.

(I can just tell her you asked me to post it ... and I know she'll believe me)

Wouldn't have been the same without you. We can claim first current early GoldWing owners to share lawn at a Maxi-Scoot annual event and thanks for reminding me 'First time eating bbq Lima beans!' Actually they were the big ole beans known as 'butter beans' rouncheer. Also the last time, evidently an acquired taste or a way to extend edible life of cooked butter beans, I'll take mine sans bbq hence forth. Still a good meal with great dining companions. Oh yeah, first photo of a motorized parachute.

No comments on the mug other than 'Bad Steve!' Though correct about curiosity concerning, I don't want to end up Vulcanized if Sandy shows up next year. Just curious whether there are additional mugs for sale.

Wendy's mug (of Sandy) was one off ... but I suspect Maggie still has MaxiRally mugs ... vaguely recall her mentioning ordering some.

Of course she did.  I would expect no less.  We both know how she is.  It's the bond that keeps us tolerant of each other.

Couple of firsts for me also, First time I've heard Cole Slaw called "Cabbage salad" & a Chicken Pot pie was more like Chicken Dumpling soup.

I don't get the mug thing. Did I miss something??

I believe the cole saw was actually listed as "creamed cabbage" (Surprise!) but you're right on with the pot pie (doesn't pie imply a crust?).  In their defense, it was listed as Pennsylvania Dutch Chicken Pot Pie.  Guess we just don't speak Pennsylvania Dutch.

On the mug ... it somehow came up in one of our many discussions, no doubt as a result of something Sandy said.  I don't recall exactly when I took the picture, but it was classic Sandy (this picture being as expressive as many of her comments).  When one of the St. Louis crowd (Wendy) moved to Columbus they had a going away ride for her and I made up the mug to remind her of the club.  The reverse had the St. Louis Scooter Club logo.

My bad ... I fiddled with it so much making the mug version I thought I'd taken it, though I did find it odd that I couldn't find the original.  My apologies.

Of course this sorta lets me off the hook as I wasn't the original poster.     I hadn't even met you guys yet when it was taken.

Once something's posted on the 'net, there's no telling where it might pop up ... just ask Kate Middleton how it works.

I just happened to be at the table during telling of photo and it's journey to internet photo and becoming emblazoned on mug. Joking about purchasing as, if I remember correctly, the telling ended with something along the lines of wouldn't be surprised ....... listed on CafePress. Seeing the photo with mug completes the story but the telling was epic.

You know the gas at that little stop in Jersey Shore must have been special gas.  I did not need gas until I filled up this weekend before a club ride.

339 miles to the gallon!

It must have something to do with the space/time continuum how Jersey Shore ended up in Pennsylvania cause the Kwang Yang went 658 miles on that tank and still reads half tank. Probably caused by the guvment experimenting with making ships invisible back during WWII.

By the way, even though I didn't have to put any gas in the Kwang Yang on the trip there or home and I haven't figured it to the penny estimated expenditure from prep to arrival home from Maxi-Scoot 2012, approximately $24,500.00

Meeting Maggie, priceless! Dan, Dave and everyone only thirty cents short of priceless, if Norm had shown up with my egg creme it would have been perfect. Wouldn't have missed it and a majority of cost should reduce expenditure for 2013.
