For sale is my 2007 Honda Reflex. Silver. All stock. It has a smidge more than 6,000 miles on the clock. I commute about 12 miles most every day, so that will change as time goes on. The scooter has a couple of almost unnoticeable paint scuffs where a door blew shut on it. All maintenance is up to date. A great little scooter. I'm asking $3.500. Located in Charleston, SC. Will probably ask a bit more on Craigslist, but want to offer it first to my Maxi-Scoots friends.

I'm looking for either a Majesty or Burgman 400, so if someone has one and is looking for a Reflex, I'm willing to get creative...

Thanks,
Paul

Good luck with your sale Paul.  Did you check your local craigslist and cycletrader to reach that price or did you use kbb?

All of the above, but mostly Craigslist. There aren't a lot of Reflexes on the market down here. those and Silverwings seem to hold their value well.

Its not a bad price, but I'd still be prepared to deal if I were you,,,with the economy the way it is, scooters and motorcycles are right up there with ski boats and riding mowers and loose a lot of value, I bought my reflex and silverwing for $3500 each they are 03 and 04 and had less miles than yours...so good luck with it....Rog

I realize that there is always a bit of negotiation, and even though the mileage may be less, I would think that an 03 or 04 would naturally cost less than an 07.

Also, I forgot to mention that a Honda shop manual is included as well as a Cortech tailbag (might be a Tourmaster.... )

I don't think the price is too bad.  You can't negotiate up.

Not that this means anything and the fact that every sale should be treated as an individual transaction but FWIW I bought my 2005 Reflex two months ago during the height of riding season with 443 miles in absolute better than showroom condition for $2900 and I thought I paid top dollar. I was desparate. Two months from now it probably couldn't have been sold it for $2000.00 because of the pending weather, If you can get that price great! But - be prepared to negotiate.

Man! You guys are a wet blanket... Conventional wisdom would always suggest negotiation. Price is based on what I am seeing around here. I am also looking for a scooter and realize that there is a difference in cost based on the model year and the location (I'm looking as far away as Missouri). If one is willing to travel for several hours it certainly opens ones options. BTW I think that 3 grand is a good price for an 05 Reflex with low miles, and you could easily get 2 for it (in the right market). And just so there is no mistake, I do appreciate the input.

Paul -- I don't think you are out of line on your asking price.  People will probably check the net for used Honda's and see a price range difference of up to $2000 for similar items.  You are in the middle and in a good negotiating position.

Anybody selling on the net, newspapapers, etc. always set their price high so there is room to negotiate.

FWIW -- I purchased a 2003 Reflex about 3 months ago and paid $2700 (Cdn) and still feel I got a good deal.

Paul I sold my Reflex last year in late fall for $2600.  Mine was an 03 ABS with 20,000 miles on it.  No mods except for a GIVI windscreen.  It was in excellent shape.  The market will dictate the final price of your bike.  If other Honda Reflexes are being sold in similar condition at that price then you should have no trouble.

One other note.  I just read your ad and I think you may want to remove the line "this scooter is no longer sold in the USA.".  I get that it makes it kind of rare but it may also turn off people thinking they can't get it serviced or find parts.  Just my opinion.

My opinion is coming from a VERY depressed market here in Ohio. I didn't mean any disrespect to you or your pending sale. Looking back, the $2900 I spent on the Reflex was a good purchase. It is often mistaken for new and it runs perfectly. AND- it attracts the babes!- Don't
tell the wife.....

Good luck with the sale. The reflex is a fantastic bike. You just need an educated buyer. I think you're in the ballpark

I sure didnt mean to be a wet blanket either, but your going through what a LOT of us have , and that is I want a bigger bike syndrome...even if you had a bunch of friends telling you, dont get that 250 you'll want a bigger bike soon, you probably wouldnt have listened to them, but now you do, and if you want to sell you need to be prepared for the market, my 04 wing had less than 1000 miles so I offered $3100 he said no, that he wanted $4k but we settled on $3500 which I think is a deal...but I wish you all the luck with it...Rog

Thanks Rog. The wet blanket remark was meant tongue-in-cheek. And you are rightóI would have still bought the 250. It is a great scooter and more agile than my Majesty. I weigh about 200 and it zips right along. I have seen many posts on this forum recommending that someone would be better off with a 400... or 650, and while you may end up with one eventually, its better to start where you are comfortable. I wish I could keep both.... Hey, am I hijacking my own thread? Uh, anyway, Reflex for sale! Reflex for sale!

OK, lets get creative. I need to sell this baby. I'm throwing in a Cortech tail bag, a Z1R 3/4 black helmet (XL), a Reflex shop manual and the pin spanner to adjust the shocks. Asking $3400, but I will entertain a reasonable offer.

No Nigerian businessmen who want to send extra money (you can keep rest) to pay for shipping....

The shop manual is desirable but the luggage not as enticing.  As a buyer I am never interested in a used helmet if I don't trust the source.  One of the things I did to help sell my Reflex was to repost the ad every couple of days so it would be towards the top of the listings.  Also put in a fall price special because winter was approaching, I assume your riding season is almost all year so maybe that isn't as important for you.

Have you had any responses or inquiries about the bike yet?

My favorite was a guy that called me and tried to negotiate the price down to $1500 saying that he can buy a new Chinese scoot for that price.  I gave him some words of wisdom and wished him luck.  Later he emailed me to let me know his wife put the budget limit on him and that he would prefer a Japanese bike.  I don't know what he finally decided but I hope he found a decent machine.  The nice thing for me is I had zero pressure to sell my bike as I had it packed away for the winter already and I also wanted to keep it.

Dan,
The helmet is actually "new." I wore it a couple of times before I bought a full face. Although the Z1R gets great safety ratings, it is not an expensive helmet.

I don't "have to" sell the bike right now, I just want to. It is residing in my greenhouse. and while our riding season is pretty much all year, our growing season isn't and the ol' Reflex is right in the middle of where I want to winter some plants. That, and it is harder to sell any type of motorcycle/scooter once it gets cold.

I have had a couple of tire kickers (I won't let them ride unless they either have an MC license or I'm holding their cash), but nothing serious.

I owned the exact same helmet when I first bought my Reflex.  I rather liked it but I had to add extra padding to the front part that touches the forehead otherwise it would be painful on longer rides.  You are right, it is cheap but decent.  I especially liked the visor for blocking setting or rising sun.  I think it is actually a Jet helmet by design and not a 3/4.  The backside doesn't go down very far.

FYI- our local Honda dealer just got in a used red Reflex sport with only 1,688mi. It is a 2007 that was bought new and mostly garaged. The dealer is only asking 3,399.00 for it and it is flawless.  I thought that was unusually cheap coming from a dealer??  Good luck with your sale.

Still have the Reflex, and still trying to sell her. I've knocked the price down to $3200 but would entertain a reasonable offer. She's in great shape... the perfect commuter-scooter... just sitting in my greenhouse... waiting... waiting....

Been away for a while, but till trying to sell the Reflex. Here is the "new" listing:

2007 Honda Reflex scooter. 75MPG, 80+MPH. Silver. 250cc. 6447 miles. REDUCED PRICE! I have knocked $300 off of my original asking price which puts this bike almost $200 below Kelly Blue Book ($3080). Excellent condition (garage kept). Lots of storage under the seat (enough for a full face helmet +). The Honda Reflex is one of the best scooters ever made. Adjustable rear shocks for heavier or lighter load (wrench included). All services done. New battery ($88). Will include a Cortech tailbag ($60) and full shop manual ($75). You can ride two-up on this scooter with no problem. Three gallon fill-up will get you over 200 miles! You will not find a nicer, more reliable scooter at this price. Now asking $2,900 obo. Located Charleston SC. 843.723.3213 or prossmann@bellsouth.net

Champion did the first service, I did the rest.
