Maggie, great pictures as always, solid 110 miles of twisty sounds like my kind of ride. I must say, I couldn't help but notice in that mirror shot, you have very lovely forearms. Do you use lotion, before you ride, to protect your skin from drying out and did you just get a manicure?      Choose one.

Craig, I gotta find me some buttermilk pie now.

Last saturday was a picture perfect day for riding here in New England!  As I was exploring the back roads of NH I found this Trebuchet sitting along hwy 31!  This massive machine is called Yankee Seige and is nearly 60 feet tall.  The wheels are 10' in diameter and weighs 56K pounds!  In 2004 it held the world record for throwing a 100 pound pumpkin 1394'.  Also on the grounds were several other iron pieces and stoneworks.  The wreaking ball was as tall as the cab on the crane it sat in front of. These huge ironworks are amazing, the soft ground they were on prevented me from parking my scoot in front of them to get the true scale of their size.

To find out more go to Yankee Seige

This new site looks great keep up the great work!
Norm we were only about an hours ride apart and from your picture it looks like you were somewhere along the mountain road at gunstock.  I have many fond memories of that lake when I was just a little pup!

Now, fried green tomatoes I know. Dan, the taste is often according to the cook and how green the tomato. Some add sugar, other sweeteners, etc. I prefer closer to natural, you get a bit sour taste of the green tomato.

Edited to add - Oops, Thanks Robin!

Robin and I did a little 428 mile ride yesterday and I managed to find yet another variation on the classic buttermilk pie.  This one was a buttermilk coconut pie at the Sunshine Cafe in Wolf City, Tx.

Buttermilk pie, another new one at me

Not sure we in the UK can compete with that, all we chuck is wellies
(Wellie wanging, wellie throwing, or wellie chucking is a sport that originated in Britain, most likely in the county of Yorkshire. Competitors are required to hurl a Wellington boot as far as possible within boundary lines, from a standing or running start. ...

So true! Just recently had my first buttermilk pie... It is amazing.  Sigh!  Will have to wait a while Pete and I started a new diet together, he has lost 13ls and me 11lbs.  Of course buttermilk pie is not on the menu

Rode in with Pete to the hospital bright and early 2up... dropped me off at a Bobby and Ricky's to pick up my Bet & Win.  (Will explain in another thread about the work being done).  Headed off to breakfast then Bobby and I rode about town.

We went to a bicycle track (was a tag in a local game of scooter tag we play), we *might* have taken a few laps around ;)
