I've been wracking my brain over this one, there are some chicken coops west of here, truck farms to the north, and water just about everywhere else but, I can not think of a single barn withing a few hour's drive. All we've ever had down here are goats & sheep and now it's mostly cement that they can't even eat.

Well, does anyone have a storage/tool shed? Maybe a vacant building? Don't have to be exact...just something to close A stand alone garage? It's the spirit of the ride and not the letter of the law

Nobody has a fun vehicle around? Snowmobile? Sports car? Dune buggy? Hot air balloon? I thought for sure a golf cart or an ATV or another motorcycle would be fairly easy...

Sometimes the game just stalls. The tag can be easy, but life gets in the way. Next thing ya know, everyone is tagging and you get bruced when you go out to get the tag. It's a good/easy tag!!!!

Well, you'd think I could find a winery here in Greece but the closest I could come was an ouzo distillery. The scoot is parked alongside an active highway and I'm dodging traffic to get the shot so what you sees is what you gets on this one. The buildings are behind the screen of trees (honest). Ok that's an island behind the scoot and across the deep blue. In fact, it's Rabbit Island, one of the thousands of little rocky high-spots that dot the Hellenic coast. Now, before y'all start ascreamin' and ahollarin' I've checked and a minimum of 85.64% of the members of our board have access to, at least, one island. I can't vouch for our Canadian friends but I'd expect those numbers to hold true there too. Happy riding.

Don,
It is +1°C here right now; but when I have to go out in a couple of hours (when it had risen to +4°C )... I will get a picture of an island.... at least try to.

OK ... Don, An island in Canadian waters... actually in a lake quite handy my home in Bedford NS. An island in Paper Mill Lake as seen in 3°C air this morning. Included is a Google maps shot showing that it truly is an island. My shots are taken from the Beach Park and from the little symbol on the map. And for the tag ... A church steeple under renovation and repair. And now it has warmed to 9°C .... Mike

That was easy! I was hoping to stump some of the land locked guys. ;)
You might have to settle of a dome on the new tag, Orthodox Churches don't do steeples.

Ahhh Don ! ... If an island in a lake didn't count, I took pictures of an island in Bedford Basin for back up ... that being salt water ! No steeples in your part of the world ? ... too bad -- so sad.... LOL LOL Are you saying "stumped" ? Isn't scooter tag a fun kind of social activity !!! I'm sure a resourceful person like you will find a steeple under repair. Have a great day. Mike

I never asked but on can only assume that the absence of steeples can only mean that they really aren't necessary unless you're attempting to attract lighting or hide microwave receptors for cell phone signals. Then there's the little matter of finding one that is "under repair"!! I've been to some centuries old churches (Ag. Sophia in Istanbul comes to mind) who's domes STILL haven't needed to be repaired! But, it looks line Ma Nature is about ready to get back to business and bless us with a little more rain. 2½ good in 10 should be enough for anyone, right?

The has been enough rain for a while ... but this afternoon we had some decent snow flurries which was exciting (for the skier in me). Then Sunday River sent notice that they were making snow ! Winter a - cometh ! Dome or no dome.

I have 702 current churches that are open in my surrounding area. According to the county permit office, 8 of them have permits for additions/expansions. No repairs currently permitted. I contacted the 3 steeple companies and the 2 largest replied they were doing no work in this area currently. A cousin told me she thought there was a church doing repairs 2 counties north of me, but she couldn't remember what they were repairing. 1.5 hour ride there tomorrow will see........

No one would be able to say that you didin't make a valiant effort to find "that" shot, Uncle Jed. When you find the church, stop in to say thanks for the safe ride to scout it out. And say a prayer for a safe ride back home. I'll say one for you for a safe ride to and from the intended location. Mike

It appears that a church steeple under construction has ground this thread to a screeching halt.

I got it, waiting to get the next tag later this AM. That was quicker than I thought got out before the shops opened. Ok Here's the Grab. This church is on my way over to our Wednesday AM Old Farts Meeting and the other week was the first time I'd noticed that it was still in the works! Go figure... Anyhow, here's the "steeple under repair". (Of course the only correct shape for a steeple is a dome.) And here's our local, weekly Farmer's Market. Sorry for the poor condition of the photo the cop was homing in on me fast and I had to move!

Well that is a stretch for a steeple Don. We all know a steeple is a pointy thing. So, in an effort to keep the thread alive, here is a farm/produce market picture : And for the next tag ... and keeping in the dome state of mind ... a home in the "dome motif" : Mike

The other night I saw only a bit of a documentary form 2011 produced by some guy named Dumas that showed an airship (blimp?) impaled on the steeple of Notre Dame. So the rounded steeples here in Greece are designed, specifically, to be kinder and gentler.
Now, who's got Greg's email? He claims to have gotten snowed on, maybe he can build an igloo & take some pictures so we can move this thing along.

Every house of God over here has a dome but I thought that wouldn't be in the spirit of this thing but one good thought leads to another.... so here's a domed (dog) house. And, on the ride home I passed one of the last examples of an endangered species. So it's either the local video club or the left handed bucktooth toad*. Whichever fits your viewfinder. Good thing the club is on a circle, it made getting back to it a snap. *αριστερόχειρες φρύνος

Nice one on the dog house Don !! The local video shops that have closed are now open as Dollar-Store and Tao-Kwan-Do studios ... This will take a longer look. And with all the rain we have had of late combined with the instantaneous fall of leaves, some roads are like ice ---- maybe no ride for me today. And, CC ... imagine getting a straight wall in that domed house. Even the couch would have to be curved. Mike And with an edit ...... Just realized that the record shop nearby that closed recently has reopened across the street from their original location. Vinyl records are just as endangered as videos. Something like dome-like steeples many be "steeple -like". May take a run later for a picture. (Still, Mike)
