How about starting a scooter tag here? The scootdawg.com forum started this and given the vast areas we cover(sea to shining sea)....so this is the fun way to do scooter tag.

How about a STICKY for this thread?

The Game:

* To start, someone posts a photo of their scooter with a "Tag"-a landmark or other designated place/person/thing. The person posting the pic would state what will constitute a "Tag". Tags can be general or specific...but remember some specific places are regional-(Like White Castle..bummer!).

    Some examples would be:
Scooter in front of a lake.
    Scooter with grandma on it
Scooter in front of a dealership(could be a Ford, GM, Suzuki, Yamaha, etc)
Scooter in front of a McDonald's

* Other participants ride to a tag location in their area and take a photo with THEIR scooter in a similar spot. It can be a new or old pic as long as it fits the Tag.

* The first person to "tag" the pic by posting their photo with their scooter gets to post the next Tag. It may simply be stated as to what the tag is or a pic may be added as well.

* If 7 days pass with a Tag not being "tagged", the game opens up for a new post with a new tag.  This will keep it "rolling along!"

So, Let's Roll!!!!!

This is a lot of fun.  We do this on the Nighthawk forum.  It's a great way to get out and ride.  Matter of fact it spawned a second game of who could get the most tags for the season.

I like the ideal of coast to coast tag sure opens the game up for everyone to take part in it, also like the 7 day rule. so lets get tagging! to clarify with this currrent picture of a "mom & pop" type of place, a "chain" type of place wouldn't work would it?

In the SLSC we also play tag on a local basis, and last fall we had a game of county sign tag see how many counties you can get, that would also work on a coast to coast basis.

It's a bar/restaurant.

Do I pick the next tag?

If so, post a pic of your scoot at work.

Scoot at work. I think the rule is you have to post the picture first but maybe you work at the bar, so I'll take it.

Scooter by a prison, jail will do.

Edited to add - Rule clarification, Though they are of my scoot, I may have cheated using photos on hand. Does it have to be fresh photos?

I'm a bit confused here Phil.  I think the way it is played is whoever posts the image first gets to pick the next tag.  tasia posted the restaurant pic and chose in front of work next.  So you don't need to post a pic of the bike at prison unless you want or need to show an example.

Also one important rule and I don't know if it was detailed above but all the pics should be new, not something you had taken before the tag has been picked.

I think Phil is doing it right , you don't just pick the next picture, you post the next tag for someone else to get as phil did, each post should contain 2 pictures, 1 of current tag and 1 of a new tag.

Good one Phil that's not something most people go by each and every day.

As you can see in G-Bo's op post the next PHOTO for people to find.

Yeah, that's  the way I've played it, wouldn't be fair to send someone off for something you haven't done. I've only played where all is fair short of altering photos, so you want to try to pick something that is less likely people might already have a picture of, otherwise you need a dated news paper or something as tags on photos can be altered. It also sort of shows where people have been, what they are interested in by what sort of pictures they have on hand. Also, stimulates people to take more pictures when they ride as they think a picture in front of this or that would be nice, maybe come in handy also. Pictures at work or restaurants would be too easy, most people would have a photo. A picture in front of a statue with a horse, soldier, etc. less likely. I've seen local groups play where it has to be fresh photos, as things can be more easily controlled. Of course, any group can set their own rules and everyone would be on the honor system, not to use old photos etc. So I'm fine with whatever rules, just they need to be established as there seems to be various ways to play.

Dan, I agree with you. Your explanation of how the game should progress makes more sense to me. Perhaps I'm dealing with a comprehension deficit as well.

Correct!

The first person to tag a pic gets to choose the next tag with a pic to go along with the new tag. It's part of the fun in finding it!

As far as new pics, I'm not requiring those. Riders can use pre-tag pics. This will help keep it moving along. I prefer new pics, but that's ok by me. I updated the rules to indicate this.

Phil,
I really like the photo.  Long ago one of my high school teachers told me that Brushy Mountain would probably be one of my future addresses.

Since I don't want to be responsible for killing a game of scooter tag - I can accept this as a bonifide European landmark even without the scooter in the photo.  I must defer to the forum mods or the OP, if they accept this then it is okay with me.

But, midlifecrisis, pending mod approval, what is it that we are now supposed to be looking for?

Well, the pic should have a scoot in it, hence the reason for the Scoot tag. If one doesn't appear by Aug 27, then it opens up for new start.

If you'd like to tag the exact item - take a trip to TN, east of but not too far from Dresden, TN.

This tag has until 8/26 at 4:30pm CST to be tagged...or a new tag starts afresh!

OK an ancient building without a roof on it and no windows, I don't expect 11th century in the USA but something very old.

If mine gets kicked out I will bow out gracefully and wait till a scooter is available (or will my Diversion suffice)  :D
