I had thought my next machine would be the AK550, but the dealers nearby won't order one to have-Although with a large deposit, they would order one for me. I'm not going to invest $10K on something I can't even sit on. In looking for an alternative, I'm pretty sure I've narrowed it down to a PC800 for my next ride. Virtually bulletproof, comfortable, decent mileage, and unusual. Just the ticket! I'd appreciate any and all leads, but I'm concentrating on the second gen, '94-'98.

The PC800, Pacific Coast, is a great motorcycle, and look for the “newest” one you can find. I think there were some suspension and engine upgrades over gen 1. We have friends that had one and they loved it. My understanding is that the PC 800 is a very good handling bike, too.

I sent you a text on a site I found. Hope that is helpful.

I rode a Pacific Coast years ago. It was butt slow. Having had a Gold Wing, I don't think you'd be happy with it.

I'm not going to invest $10K on something I can't even sit on. I understand; that used to be the deal over here. Pay for it today & we'll deliver it in a couple of months.

I wish I would of seen this earlier, Mine sold this weekend for $2.000. It was pristine with only 28.000 miles on it. That said, it was an 1989.

I wish so too. I just don't know how I would have gotten it. I'm having trouble trying to find a way, and the time, to get a trailer from the Chicago area.

As some of you know, I went in an entirely different direction. When Mrs. Mini suggested I should just buy a bike to keep in Florida at our winter home instead of trailering my Silverwing back and forth, I thought about that (for about 1 second), before telling her "What a great idea, why didn't I think of that". I went to look at an older Helix and came home with not only that, but a clean, low miles Reflex also. Both are 250 Hondas but are as different from each other as night and day. I'm really enjoying riding both of them.

Because she had already made a deal to buy an old Honda CH80 (like new) for herself- and "forgot" to tell me!

Kind of like my wife when she books a solo vacation from Iowa cold to Florida... as she has the last few years... so she cannot really say much about me taking off on 5 motorcycle/camping trips 3 states away through out the normal riding season. Usually she tells me a few weeks before her reservation. Today she just booked herself an Air BNB in Florida but let me know about it 'cuz she needed some help with the booking.
